PSU suggestions for the build listed in description
Bought all parts yesterday besides PSU and GPU wouldn't really want to splash out on something super expensive for PSU but don't want to undercut it either UK pricing and market

An 850 should cover you.

I feel the need to point out that your gpu choice is kind of odd, with the new gpu's from both sides out in a matter of weeks and you didn't really get a bargain with it either.

I go scour for a second hand 4090 or wait on the new cards if I was spending nearly £1000, thry would perform better with more features.

Well my plan was to get the GPU in March to wait for the new drops mainly PSU I'm looking into atm
It not only about how many Watts you need. The problem is, that properly testing PSU requires knowledge, electronic equipment and time. At the end you will not even get enough views on youtube, so there is very little info to help your decision. You can lookup a PSU tierlist, but for the reasons I said, it is very outdated. You have to somehow base your decision on trust to the brand. I usually limit the choice to BeQuiet, Corsair and Seasonic.
Each of them has PSU calculator. Use them to choose one.

If you consider Nvidia GPU, make sure your PSU has 12VHPWR connector.

Full modular PSU is made up by marketing people and actually doesn't make sense. Each connector more to the system makes it worse. They are also more expensive than peaople think. Funny thing is, your PC will be even more messy with it, because you will have to connect same amount of cables but in addition you get big connectors on.

Sorry I miss read it, thought you'd ordered the gpu also, my bad.

As for modular psu's being marketing, nope, they are cleaner with less cables and it has no impact on its performance if you plug extras in.

You'll actually struggle to find a good psu that isn't modular and no idea how only having the cables you need to use could possibly be messier than having excess ones.

Psu tier lists are still remarkably reliable to go off of and should be checked as brand alone isn't a good judge, corsair has both amazing and dog poop power supplies in its line up for instance.

You also don't NEED a 12vhpwr dedicated connector, pcie to 12vhpwr are perfectly safe and good to use.
IMO, PSU is one of the most important components in a PC build. Especially when dealing with high end components that pull a-lot of power and are subject to transient power spikes. System instability and crashes are often the result of cheap PSU. I suggest corsair HX1000i or equivelant and would budget for $250-300 USD towards a quality PSU. It is a good investment and should last for a very long time and multiple builds I have been using the same a HX1000i for over 10 years across 5 builds and it's still working great. Another quality PSU from Enermax (950w revolution+) is currently powering a hand-me down rig with a rtx 3090 with no issues at all and has been in service since 2008.

I checked PSU tier listing before deciding some reports on coil whine for them so I'm torn between this and rm850e by corsair which may also have coil whine but better cables. I may also use a psu extension because the ones that come with psu are not the greatest.
Corsair if you want flexing , Seasonic get the job done but better
Have you ever seen Seasonic hire influencer? Exactly , the good one already have reputation

Seems like too much for the type of power draw and also this in the UK is priced at £200 which is double of what I'd be looking for, I would push it to £130 if needs be but £200 is costing more than my motherboard alone I wouldn't be able to justify it

This is a great suggestions, I had one in my last build and it was great maybe I should invest in another seasonic focus or something

For this PSU selected it is shown in the A tier in speculative position, most reviews on it says it would be in A tier but nice cables would be nice to have rather than getting an extension. Now I'm thinking more saesonic and rm850e or rm850x with a different capacitor on there
That is what I wanted to say, the one you have chosen is just fine.

I'm not sure what you mean with extention. The less extensions/connectors you have, the better. Especially on cables that drag high currents. Choose one that has cables with lengths that you need.

If you need to buy replacement cables preferably buy from the same manufacturer. Apparently they are not always the same.

I have basic Corsair CX450 running without problems over 5 years. I bought RM1000x as replacement together with GPU but it came broken, so I sent it back and stayed with CX450. So of course not each Corsair is perfect.
I have to run custom cables on my system due to how big the case is so I don't look too closely at what the cables look like tbh.

I've used evga supernova psu's for years, but, as the company seems to be dieing I cannot recommend them any longer as who knows how long you'll have support for.

I don't think seasonic have any bad psu's.
Corsair have great and crap.
Only read good things about be quiet.
Gigabyte seem dangerous.
Asus are heavily over priced for a gimmick you can't see on most cases.
Not read anything about msi's psu's

What do you think about be quite pure power 12 M 1000w? Seems to be speculative position for A tier and at a good price

Just meant the sleeve to make the cables look better if the cables that come with psu was bad. The one I choose does seem okay but as it is the last component just double checking so I do not miss out on a better deal for a more reliable psu. Now I'm just double thinking because there are many good options to go with so maybe I'll go with pur power 12m. Just checking some reviews atm

Psu is one of those pc components that you can easily reuse in your future build, and often times, you will need a bigger psu for your newer build.

If you can afford it, it's better to buy a bigger psu to future proof your build
