Certainly not a problem that I ever need to deal with as a linux user (imagine me smugly stroking my neckbeard while typing this sentence).
It could be targeted ads when signed into your Microsoft or Google account into a news feed. That's probably what you're referring to. Has nothing to do with WinOS by itself. You can disable the "internet" portion of start menu and search if you wish and also things like that left hand side weather, which when clicked provides a new feed of sorts based on location and if signed in it can use targeted ads just like Amazon, Google and Facebook use.
There are no adds in Windows 11. You have done something wrong or you installed bloatware.
If you are using a cracked version of Windows, then you get what you deserve.
I can only imagine someone complaining about adds in software while using a virus filled operating system.
win 11 does have ads and news, just because you disable or remove them doesnt mean they didnt exist.
Be specific with what your actual issues/problems are and where you are actually seeing this issue. Share screenshots of the issues when possible so we can see what you see. Just ensure any screenshots are edited to never include any personal information, living address, email address, any $ related account info; etc.
If you want better control over both your Browser and OS ads (yes even ads embedded into Microsoft Store Apps; such as MSN/Bing Weather app for example) ~ Try these out.
> Brave.com
> Ghostery.com
> AdGuard.com
> Avoid Microsoft Edge, Office, 365, OneDrive, Copilot, Recall (these can all be removed or disabled) ~ If you installed Win11 correctly, which means to clean install either 23H2 or 24H2 variant of Win11, choose an EU country during the setup, so this opens up more options to you, such as ability to Uninstall things like Edge and OneDrive.
The stuff in the Windows button and the search button menus in the taskbar. I removed as much of the news and AI junk out of it and try to ignore the rest.
Overall there are most likely features you have left enabled in the OS that is pushing that kind of content.
WinOS is not going to tweak itself, you must do that.
You should also try ShutUp10; it works with both Win10 and 11.
