Clearly Musk, so he can claim to be it's founder, and then run it into the ground chasing some trend/meme. (and somehow simultaneously boost Tesla's stock)

Be hilarious if it was AMD.

Most potential buyers that people would expect like NVIDIA and AMD would be barred from buying them because of laws and regulations that prevent complete monopolies, you can't easily just buy out your only competition.

AMD wouldn't be allowed to buy Intel because they would have total ownership over x86, it'd be bad for business and progress would inevitably stall. NVIDIA wouldn't be allowed to buy Intel either, they're already too huge of a corporation and they were barred from buying ARM Holdings because they would've become far too powerful in the industry to control at all.

Best case scenario would probably be Qualcomm.

Might depend on how those laws are interpreted. Are we saying that x86 is a legally distinct market category from other computer chips, or is the law blind to processing architecture? Apple jumped ship from x86 to A.R.M. and they're still a relevant segment of the desktop computer marketplace.

Plus why would Nvidia be barred from buying Intel? Nvidia doesn't make an x86 lineage chip as far as I know. Tegra is also A.R.M. based. Plus qualcomm makes A.R.M. based processors too, so I don't see why they'd be allowed if Nvidia is disbarred.

I mean I suppose, Intel has those Arc G.P.Us. but that's just a side-hustle for Intel and the market share is so scant that it seems almost like a non-factor. A.M.D. is their true competition.

The US government can act differently in this specific case, as they want fully operational foundries to be located on US soil, to become fully independent from TSMC.

So, there might be some special deal to allow Apple or Nvidia to buy Intel, as long as they will be producing chips in the US.

I'm not sure if the US government cares that much about x86 when ARM and RISC-V are gaining popularity. Nvidia is working on an ARM CPU, Apple is doing great with ARM, and Qualcomm is doing OK with ARM. Google has their own Axion CPU. The world could transition and survive if Intel failed and AMD stagnated x86.

If NVIDIA was blocked from buying ARM, they're going to get blocked from buying Intel as well, there isn't a chance in hell that they're going to be allowed. They would own too much of the industry, Qualcomm is much smaller by comparison.

Probably no one. The stock market is full of hype

I think it will be AMD. Just sayin....

I don't think Qualcomm and Nvidia have the capital to acquire Intel rn.
Probably AMD too, considering the third quarter in the last year they barely had 5 billions in cash.

You are right, it has to be American company. The only one with that cash and in business is Apple, MSFT ...

Saudi gets along very well with Trump.
They have been dumping Billions buying gaming companies and creating
game development centers within Saudi Arabia. My guess is they would buy.
