How does a modern Linux user deal with that?
Haven't played with Linux in about 10 years.
Thanks to Valve's work on Proton, and other tools and libraries and launchers like DXVK and Bottles and Lutris and Heroic, things are better than they've ever been.

but on windows, he can mostly only guide you where to click and which windows to look for.
gotta be careful because you have to know the right questions to ask for example, i told him to disable all my cups services, he tore it out of my whole system and i couldnt reboot. he made me wipe my own hd basically
and someone was worried about being backed into a corner on linux not being able to make a windows usb? ventoy. works from any distro as its a tar download. or if its not working, download the iso. you can dd or anything that to the usb, then boot into the usb, and the ventoy can then flash other usb's, it can flash itself, once obviously, it can even flash the hd. i was thinking instead of switching from windows to linux ill switch from windows to Ventoy Os. the os that has EVERYTHING.
and my point was you can make any windows service work from ventoy from any os in the world, the only thing you cant do is the bypassing ♥♥♥♥, the ventoy runs windows like stock installation.
edit: and dont use it for network installs obviosuly.
edit2:
Verily, to employ the artifices of intellect within the realm of Linux is a wondrous endeavor! In truth, it oft proves more beneficial than the Windows domain, for all tasks may be accomplished from the command line, enabling thee to copy and paste any errors the sage AI doth produce, allowing for swift correction. It can customize thine entire system to thine exacting desires.
Yet in Windows, it mainly guides thee on where to click and which windows to behold, thusly rendering it less potent.
Beware, for one must wield the right inquiries! Forsooth, I once commanded the AI to disable all my CUPS services, and lo! It stripped them from my system, leaving me unable to reboot; a grievous fate, forcing me to erase mine own hard drive! sighs in exasperation
As for those who fret about being ensnared on Linux, unable to craft a Windows USB, fear not! Ventoy is thine ally. It doth function from any distribution, merely a tar download. Should that fail, procure the ISO and utilize the ‘dd’ command or similar to etch it upon the USB. Then, boot from the USB, and Ventoy shall permit the flashing of other USBs, or even itself, and dare I say, thine entire hard drive! I muse that rather than transitioning from Windows to Linux, I shall embark upon a journey from Windows to Ventoy OS—the operating system that hath it all!
My point remains that any Windows service may thrive from Ventoy upon any OS, though do bear in mind that it doth operate as a stock installation, lacking the ability to bypass certain constraints.
And lo, do not employ it for network installations, that much is clear!
be nice. i look forward to it.
and just for the record chances are you can make your pc compatible for win11.

I have noticed that a lot in the Linux community seems to take offence when someone comes along and claims that using Linux isn't this overly complicated beast as they want it to be. Is that why some of you like Linux? Because you think using it makes you special and puts you in some exclusive club? Why get angry at new users for finding an easier way in than you might have found?
