Are these Dead Pixels?
This monitor is quite old but i just noticed that there's these two dark spots on the monitor, they seem to be inside the screen and can't just be wiped off. the monitor is (BenQ GL2450)

may be dust or bug behind the panel

its uncommon for dead pixels in displays for about the last 10 years
to here and full screen, dead sub pixel will be different color
https://lcdtech.info/en/tests/dead.pixel.htm
if its evenly darker than its something blocking light from behind the panel

anyway to get that out of there without taking the display apart?

nope, most monitors are not horribly hard to take apart tho
guess ill just live with it then, they aren't very noticeable unless it's displaying pure white.

oh, its edge lit, will be difficult to take apart

i did the check and it's just black dots regardless of the color. so i guess it is something blocking it

edge lit is evenly lit, with the diffuser panel right behind the lcd panel, no room for bug or anything to get in there

were those areas dimmer when you got it?
or it might be mold

i got it like 3 years ago from a friend and i have no idea if it was like that when he gave it to me. i'm only noticing it now and also it's not dimmer even with the black dots. it's just those two little black dots, the screen is evenly lit.

thats what i mean, edge lit are always evenly lit
they cant get black spots like that from bugs

mold would be about the only cause for it to do that
this could be a couple of things....seen inside lining of monitors break down over time and start flaking.....they ended up between the panel layers making black spots like this.....ether way you cant fix it....

I had to replace a monitor (TV, actually, as that's what I used for years) because a fruit fly found it's way behind the panel. He lasted about a day, and I was hoping he'd at least find his way to near the edge, but no -- he was rude and died right near the middle of the screen. :steamfacepalm:

That's what your spots look like to me.
No those are not dead pixels, however, it does look like those sub-pixels are dying. To me your first image does not look like something between the panel and the diffuser/polarizer/display surface or coverglass. It looks like the voltage array on the electrode panels are not working properly on those blue sub-pixels.

There is also the potential that something damaged the polarizers in those two gaps in the pixel array. I'd actually lean more toward this given the display is a TN panel

whats more common with edge lit leds cracking the diffuser panels
where you get bright streaks and dark areas

back lit tvs are easy to take apart to clean
20+ years ago dlp and the huge rear projections were prone to spiders and bugs blocking light
and a few of those that used liquid cooling for the lighting would grow algae and turn a green tint
I don't see any dead pixels.
If those blips were dead pixels they would be 100% black and zero light on that pixel dot

Take the panel apart and have all dust blown out.
