Upgrading GPU made it worse?
Started with 1650 and thought I'll just upgrade when I have a chance. 2 years have passed XD and now I tried 3060 because I needed the extra vram for work. My games are now unplayable or running at 30-20 fps. Is it cpu bottleneck? my gpu utilzation is also low like never above 30%

old GPU MSI ventus 1650 oc
new GPU Gigabyte Gaming 12G OC LHR rev2 (I still have chance to return it) pls elp

5 3600/ b450 elite v2/ 16gb ram/ 850w

Set Nvidia CP up...

Low Latency = On
Shader Cache = Unlimited
Power = Prefer Max Performance

wow thank you for all the help! Here goes https://imgur.com/a/gKUXdQ7
Is it cpu bottle neck/ bad optimization/settings HAGS/ XAMP what should I be looking at?
MHworlds 20-30fps Elden ring became unplayable at medium settings

it is obviously not a fake, as its specs is higher than official specs. a fake`s specs would be lower. i notice however that it is very hot. that could be an issue.

Pc idle its 40c but when I start a game the fans do start spinning.
Hmmm when I used DDU there was these tickbox ye, I didn't check the monitor part as I don''t want to reset the pantone calibration of my monitor. If not this, I'll try Hardware acceleration, then check bios if xamp is enabled.. thanks for your time

Just how hot is it getting while playing?

couple of things....
1....turn on resizable bar as its off in settings (every motherboard i have ever seen needs this done in BIOS settings).....
2....check for BIOS updates, chipset updates and network card updates as all AM4 based systems got massive updates in the last 6 months....(im on a X570 board with a 5700x CPU saying this)......even 3 series motherboards had updated BIOS's released in the last 6 months(done updates on them for customers in the last 2 weeks!!).....
3.....setting NgreediA control power setting to max performance is also a great idea as it wont let the PCI-E slot downclock (in your picks its on and dropping the slot to 1.1 when not under load)....
4....turn off HDMI audio by disabling it in device manger (as long as your not using it) like when you plug in your headphone to the PC itself.....when you dont use the port the cheap audio chip in the HDMI port will wait on a return signal that makes all systems stutter...this is for all GPU's not just NgreediA
5....looking in to elden ring this game hates 3060's and a lot of people had problems playing this game near 60 fps.....

Update the drivers. Reboot. Go into Nvidia settings and make sure your games are using the 3060 instead of your on board graphics. If need be, manually set it to use you 3060,

That's why I asked to confirm his cpu, he says he's on a 3600, which doesn't have one, though his performance kind of suggests he's on the G and is plugged into the mobo.

Fans on my 3060 don't normally kick on until it hits around 60C. It also idles anywhere between 40C and 55C, depending on the ambient temperature.

I don't think it's a heat issue unless when you're gaming it goes above like 80C, which would be pretty high for an RTX 3060.

I'd recommend downloading a benchmark program as well and posting the results.

If the card isn't defective, I'm wondering if you've somehow got some other device selected as your acting GPU.

Also, what OS are you using on your PC? Windows 11? 10? Linux?

Also, when you used DDU, you did a complete removal of your old drivers and then installed the new ones, right?

Also, within Steam, what are your shader-caching options? Is it possible you're getting slowdown from the shaders loading while you play?

How long have you left a game running while it's not giving good performance? Just a few minutes to see that it's not working then you close it? I mean, maybe let a game run for a bit to see if it's just doing something in the background.

Do you have MSI Afterburner installed? If so, what's the GPU doing? Does it get hotter when you're gaming, is it clocking properly, etc. Do you get any different results if you over or underclock?

What resolution are you playing the games in? Does lowering your resolution help at all?

I recommend getting HWiNFO64 and check all temperatures. Not just basic CPU/GPU temp but like all 30sensors. Basic GPU templ alone can be misleading as there might be problem with VRAM temp, GPU hot spot or junction. Maybe it’s VRM on motherboard overheating? Or system RAM for whatever reason.
Bad temps will be in red so easy to check. It will show max temp so can be analysed after playing a game.

I know this sounds like me being a wise-ass but I'm not; have you tried taking it out and putting it back in? Maybe it's physically not connected properly. If you have another card slot, have you tried putting it in that?

Yo like you said initially could be bad settings, For the past three days I've been researching and asking forums till I found this. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2807081856 . I only did the HAGS and NCP, still not reaching 30fps but it kinda works. HAGS for sure was a boost also to other games. I'll download other games to compare performance but for know I'll just keep on playing with the settings. Huge thank you to everyone!

btw my OS is win 10/DDU yep clean install/ Steamshader haven't check I'll try/ Other games about I played about 15mins+ EldenRing logs me out of online mode shortly after xdd/ MSI after burner I was planning to install with rtss just to compare with other benchmarks. Thanks dude I'll award you soon™ :mhwgood:

Have you checked it is running through your GPU and not your CPU?
