Problems and Questions about driver versions vs Games (Cyberpunk 2077)
The last update for Cyberpunk and the last Nvidia Driver update didn't seem to make a " great couple" for many players....me included.
Having played since the start and especially since the last 2 years with increases HD textures packs, adding reshade + lut and additionnaly playing on very high with RTX effects , I rarely dipped under the 40 fps line........ with a 3080!

Now what happens is that the game begins at 60 fps (v synced) or 80 - 90 fps (withotu v sync) and then drops during "city walks" or " combat" around 30 fps.....even 25 sometimes.

Basically my FPS are cut in half with v Sync or I am losing...70 FPS.....without v Sync.

If I don't use Ray tracing the game stays stable but I still noticed fps dips (less extreme ones tho).

My concern is around the RTX effects that seem to tank my performance much more than they did before.

What I tried:

- I removed HD texture packs, FPS still dropping.

- I removed the "Corrective RTX/PT mod" that makes you tweak in game setting fro ma CET window, FPS still dropping.

- I cleaned the mod files cache, no changement.

- Repaired the files o nsteam, nothing to report. no broken or missing files.

- I used DDU, removed a stack of 9 previous updates. Reinstalled the previous, not the last GPU driver 566.36., FPS still droping.

Should I keep testing other drivers to eventually solve the problem or is that no recommended ?
Does it have an impact on the pc in some sort ?

Than you!

I would recommend using the new drivers, for the new DLSS transformer models of Cyberpunk. The new models are different and you'll find that if you used to run it on quality that you now need to put it on performance to get the same FPS stability. That said, performance DLSS now is similar to what quality DLSS was and quality DLSS is much closer to native.

Modding your games makes it impossible to really troubleshoot anything though because any issues could easily just be from a mod mucking things up.

Yes concerning mods, that's true.
It could be anything and troubleshooting through 900 mod files is something. I might find the culprit if I am lucky.
All right I'll test the new Nvidia driver again with the tweaked options you suggested. See if I get at least stable 50 fps....at least !
That depends if you need DLSS 4.x or not.

If not then doing a clean install of 566.16 driver should be fine.

However for DLSS 4.x and to get the most out of the latest NVIDIA app, you want a clean install of the latest driver, 572.42

Which ever NVIDIA Driver you install, if you use the GFE or NVIDIA APP make sure to change its options to "check for updates only" so it doesn't auto push the latest driver down your throat

Going from 566 to 572 or vice versa, use DDU app to wipe everything via safe mode so they can be clean installed. Do not update from 566 or older to 572

I have a 3080 10 GB and DLSS4 performance is actually worse than DLSS3.
Most of the benchmarks show quite the fps losses on raster or ray tracing with DLSS4. and of course, I am confronted to the same problem.

I installed three different drivers ( 566.14, 566.36 and the last one 572.16) and the results are the same. I prefer installing drivers alone and never using the Nvidia App.
You never know with telemetry and other things going on with an app you don't control what it does to your pc registry and how much ressources it pumps from your system.
I heard several people telling me it's better to update drivers only without using the Nvidia App.

I think something might be bond ot the last game update.
So I guess that waiting for another freaking update (praying it will not make things even worse than they are since a few years) might be the only option or even solution.

The game also react weird (same FPS count with medium or high shadows and/ medium /ultra RTX lightning).... I just don't understand how the FPS wouldn't change :s

Anyway...
OK first off if your on a AMD system UPDATE EVERYTHING......all AMD systems including AM4 based just had massive updates to everything including the BIOS.....BIOS chipset and network cards got updates in the last 3 months!!!.....boards going back to the 3 series on AM4 saw BIOS updates and most of these boards are 7 year old or older......

after that make sure RESIZABLE bar is on in bios.....disable HDMI audio in device manager if not in use and do the GPU tweak list of things like turning on max performance in power settings.....
