Steam deck right analog stick woes

I replaced the right bumper on my deck and when I did and reinstalled my right analog stick it was showing it was receiving input when I wasn't touching it, not just a little input but a full torque in a given direction, I completely removed the stick with intentions of buying and installing a hall effects upgrade, but even with the right stick completely removed it is showing the same input completely torqued to one direction, even with the stick and ribbon completely removed. Has anyone else encountered this? What could it be? I just want to be able to use my deck again and I have no clue what's going on.
