Browser/Chrome and YouTube
- Yesterday I switched on my computer and opened up YouTube in my browser and it was so slow, it took ages for the page to load, maybe 30 seconds to get the page loaded (all the thumb nails) and the video to start running, normally it takes 1 second, tops. When the video is ready to load however it runs fine with no buffering, but when I scroll down to see the comments it took ages again to see them and to get the thumb nails of the recommended videos on the right hand side loaded. While the video was running I opened up another tab and tried different pages, football results, news papers, twitter, you name it, they load fast as they normally do. Browser is Chrome, I always use Chrome and it's never been a problem before.

So I switched to FireFox and here YT loads fast as it normally does with no problem.

It's the same today: Chrome slow with YouTube. FireFox fast with YouTube.
Any ideas?
Thank you

Using chrome? You invited the demon onto your system.

Okay:steamhappy:
The irony here:steamhappy: Chrome is still my standard browser I haven't changed the settings yet, so when I clicked on your link it opened in Chrome and lo and behold YT was normal again, no 30 seconds loading time whatsoever. It's just so weird:steamhappy:

Sometimes, it's a matter of clearing the browser's caches, like history, cookies, etc. I prefer to use a third party software to do this so I don't get logged out of my websites.

But it's good you got it working again.

Yes but I have no idea how it magically solved itself, yesterday I even opened up the cabinet and and vacuumed for dust, and then I used the CC cleaner and removed 1,5GB of ♥♥♥♥♥, but it didn't fix it then. In my mind I feared some kind of Chrome specific virus (idk if that's even a thing but what do I know lol) that could steal my passwords or something.

Chrome literally is spyware. Stealing data is it's primary purpose.

I get that. Is FireFox better in your opinion?

IT's not Spyware at all.
LOL wut.
I've been having this issue since yesterday and it will not fix itself.
I have tried everything.

I have restarted my computer.
I've removed all Ad blocking things from Chrome.

I've done so much and everything is borken still!

OH. Right. I forgot about that.
Did that. It didn't fix anything.
Sigh.

Unless I have to do the full restart.

Ew. Okay. I'll try that.
I hate having to go and log in all over again on Amazon, Twitch, etc, just to do this.

Update.
Couldn't find the reset and clean up button.
I did remove everything though.

Still didn't fix anything.

This is so weird. YT via chrome is slow again... I don't get this. Another thing I discovered is that a music album that I downloaded (premium) a week or so ago is gone.

Weird. My issue finally got fixed, so that makes me happy.
I didn't even do anything.

Did Chrome do a silent update in the background maybe? There should be a Help/About Chrome button in the Settings menu.
