Program pop up's How to stop them?
I have three programs that are always giving me pop up's to buy the latest version. None of these programs are in my start up, but obviously something has to be running someplace, but i can't find it. (my anti virus does the same thing but it's active, maybe i can stop that too?)

The 3 programs are word perfect, Paint-shop pro, and Pinnacle studios they are not running, so it's some background thing that's doing it and It's driving me crazy! . Anyone have a clue how i can track this down and stop it?

If they have ties to an online activation they might have a Service that runs that handles Data Telemetry so it can let you know when such app has updates available.

Install and run SPECCY
Once ran, go to File > Publish > Copy to Clipboard

It will be quite long text contents, so paste that on PasteBin.com
and share the link it makes for your new paste in here.

From that I can see all the installed apps and services.

I also found a task scheduler, i removed them, i'll try a restart see if it keeps them gone.

Delete anything like that from Task Scheduler.
Any such Services, change them to either Manual or Disabled.

Once you make all those changes, reboot Windows and you should be good to go.

Pretty much anytime I install something where I'm un-sure of it adding these types of things (like with Task Scheduler and within Services) I make sure to check for such things after a new or unfamiliar app is installed. Sometimes I find it being the reason I stop using certain apps too.

I actually have an older version of PaintShop Pro that I got used to using. The GUI isn't fancy but it works well enough for what I need it for. Once Corel took that over it went down-hill. And I can't stand such apps being "internet service connected" as there is simply no need for that.

I never use subscription based stuff like what's available from Adobe or Microsoft either; for obvious reasons.
