RTX 2080 Ti or RX 6750 XT?
I can’t decide, which one to get?

“Refurbished” RTX 2080 Ti: $325 USD

“Open Box” RX 6750 XT: $380 USD

Might be worth trying to find out how/who did the refurbishment. Often, it’s just an end user that has hoovered up the dust. But not always… I got a dirt cheap RX 480 during covid year that was refurbished by a big multi million pound company that buys second hand and unsold stock and gives them a proper overhaul… new paste, fans, box, 1 year warranty, all the usual paperwork in box that was brand new etc and it turned out to be a gem. Genuinely, like a brand new gpu.
Neither. Never get a used GPU.
Yes especially when brand new in the original sealed box are available at decent enough prices; why would you look for used on stuff that's the latest gen. Sure RX 6xxx is last gen, but still AMD doesn't have lower end RX 7xxx GPUs yet either. So as far as I look at it, RX 6xxx is still their current gen; just that they also have a 7900 XT / XTX

Why recommend something that's double in price
As said above, the RX 6700 XT is around $350 new, sometimes lower on sales. It's not substantially slower than the 6750 XT so I would definitely take a new 6700 XT at a lower price as opposed to a used 6750 XT at a higher price. The latter would have to be cheaper (not the same, but cheaper, and probably substantially) for me to consider it.

Someone even linked a new 6750 XT for the same price as the used one which sort of reinforces this to me.
neither... get a new card and save the headache.

It's called common sense.

Those 350$ or below GPUs now aren't going to last you for years to come

in my experience those high end cards are pushed too far and burn out before they have the time to last longer than a mid range card would before it needs to be upgraded anyways... however if you go with the mid-range card it doesn't burn it's self out and you have more than a paper weight when you upgrade.
I like AMD, but DLSS makes a big difference. With DLSS, you can upscale from a lower resolution and still get good-looking image quality. That means better FPS in real-life scenarios.

However, I have a very hard time recommending Nvidia because I refuse to support their business practices. I believe their limited VRAM and pricing are killing PC gaming. Bad game ports are partly the reason, of course, but they are also a symptom. The PC market for AAA games isn't currently big enough for publishers to spend more money on.

I think the op knows that but it's called a budget..try use common sense next time and recommend something around that price point
Yeah I don’t think some people realize why Nvidia gets so much hate, their good GPUs are out of most people’s budget for a single component, most people won’t even spend more than 1000$ on an entire system and they’re not really concerned about longevity at that point. They can’t afford to go extra.

Then maybe go buy an RX 590 8GB for $100
Why though, when a probably fine open box 6750XT is relevant for quite awhile? Just sounding ridiculous now.

Hardly anyone that knows their stuff is buying a 4070 because it’s garbage. Everything below the 4090 just gets worse in value. Meanwhile the 7900XTX trails a little bit in rasterization behind it but costs a LOT less.

Yes, the option posted in #15--the MSI rx 6750 XT--it's the same thing as in OP but appears to be NEW vs. "open box." Meaning someone's grubby hands were all over the latter already. :steamfacepalm:

Buy a new gpu and get a warranty. You just don't know the background of these prev. handled items.
Could the OP share the web links for the GPUs in question they were actually looking at so we can see the retailer and details and such.
