> You have wasted space right from the start of using Win10/11 due to the Hibernation File. With OS on SSD you do not need Hibernate Mode what so ever. Can easily disable that and in-turn gain back that disk space by launching CMD (Run As Admin) and enter the command:
powercfg -h off
press enter
restart WinOS to apply the change.
> System Restore has grown bulky over time and you maybe never took the time to wipe all of that out, which you should do from time to time. Also setting a realistic max size for it helps also. If you would like to view each restore point and only delete certain ones, you can do this easily with CCleaner.
> Going into Settings > System > Storage > Temporary Files
and wiping all of that out once a week or month. You can also run MS Disk Cleanup app (run as admin) and there might even be some more temp junk you can wipe out to free up space as well. DO NOT run these options and/or delete anything if you have just had Windows Updates doing any updates or making changes. As you will first want to apply those updates and restart your OS before running such tools to wipe out old left-over junk.
> If you play Games, most of them store save slot and config files within the user's Documents structure. Changing its location to a secondary drive will help get all of that off your OS Drive. You could do the same for the user's Downloads folder as well.
I still have a couple of HDD's a 8TB and a 12TB HDD, the 8TB is more of a local NAS drive, its nice to not have to use flash drives when working on a computer, the 12TB I use for my Jellyfin content, its way more space than I need but it was a way to offload my DVDs and digitize some really old VHS tapes so they don't loose quality from sitting in storage.
And for windows and programs, 120GB is enough, yeah I wouldn't go as far as installing games on it, but its plenty for Windows 11.
Finding these can help you get good stuff for cheap.. a few months ago for example i was able to get a 1TB SSD through it which greatly helped me upgrade my OS drive.
Now look... here is something fairly decent for the price and with the brand you know you have good support.
Crucial P3 PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT500P3SSD8
500GB = 31.99
1TB = 45.99
2TB = 98.99
4TB = 199.99

But buying with amazon doesnt always show up instead of Affirm, tends to be random/by chance, so its something to look out for.
Yes it is. My copy of Win 11 only uses 53GB.
Yeah, I'd say 512 gb is about the minimum you'd want for an OS drive, these days. Factor in a few bloated system updates, and some stubborn OS drive install games, and you'll find 512gb being close to being space starved. Thankfully, Win11 now allows you to "move" their win store installs around now...
