[ LF tips ] New monitor after 14 years using LCD screen;

Bought this HAYOM - MO 6005 23,5 inches and.....OMG! IS HUGE!

I've placed on the same pedestal, same position my last monitor always have been to make it comfortable with this replacement.
My old LCD screen had a drastic stain on screen, making hard to see darkness colors so most of games were being left to dust because they don't have gamma/brightness settings.

Now I'm trying to get used with this high resolution monitor that can run up to 1920x1080 which do run 75hz but the desktop get so tiny....everything is so minimal and for that I'm running on 1152x864 resolution to keep 75hz, otherwise all other sets were restricted to -60hz.

And on Ultra High definition resolution sets, they all are restricted to 60 hz which get me disappointed anyway.

What tips or suggestion, can you point out to make this big screen be more suitable to apps running on front like Steam ( right now, everything is so freaking big ), games ( best perfomance if possible ) and desktop working area;

Then you haven't seen a lot of screens now, have you? I own 2 different screens that can do 1920x1080 @ 144hz over VGA.

Actually yes it does and I have done it before but it's not worth arguing with trolls like that about it.

Well tonight, I've found most of resolutions sets even on my old monitor 1280x720 were not allowing to adjust screen frequency and so were giving one option at 60 hz. Found weird because my lcd monitor had running 1280x720 at 75hz for decades. And tonight after trying to move to resolution above 1152x864 at 75hz. I have found one comfortable, apps and desktop area seems to fit as should applications such as Steam are not looking big enough. Almostly like I'm back to 1280x720 but I'm currently running at 1280x1024.
The only option at 75hz was top notch 1920x1080 at 75hz ( PC ) on ( UHD, SD ) are locked to 60hz,59hz,50hz. So it would certainly be bad after years and years used at 75hz.

I'm running on 1280x1024 and so far looks good now I need to test on games.

Hmm....that is new for me. I never have calibrated or tracked the speed. I have always relied on what it says through Nvidia control panel. Can you tell me how to do it?

Could you share with us the model number of your video card in your computer perhaps?

On monitor analog display show response* time OSD 10 but I can go lower or higher. Is that it?
If you had me to look at the wrong place. Call me stupid because I'm very newb after more than 14 years years using the same monitor. Everything to me is new.

Set the display setting (right click on the screen if using Windows) and set the display resolution to whatever it recommends - maybe 1920 x 1080 and scale to 125% (or larger). This should make the screen fonts a reasonable size and reduce the bad looking text. You are seeing large and blocky text because the scaling is wrong - change to scale to make the text and icons smaller.

Can't help with game settings, but I reckon 60FPS is not much different to 75FPS.

The response time is a hardware feature . I doubt you can change it . Check the manual for the exact value .

To Lil C]-[ew C]-[ew is ☂д☂: You can pretty much ignore this. The response time of the monitor has absolutely nothing at all to do with your ability to set it's refresh rate inside of windows.

what gpu do you have?
use gpu control panel to see higher refreh rate in pc section, not in hd/uhd/sd section
