may need an outlet tester to make sure its wired correctly
both monitors work in room 2, both fail in room 1. Power outlet would be my guess.
Tripped breaker, faulty outlet, loose wire or wired incorrectly, whatever the cause i would not use that outlet until it was checked by someone competent.
All the outlets and plugs work. There are a few aquariums and jars that need lights and they all work. Even in the plug/outlet that the computer were jacked into.
I had a power strip that was a little old and replaced that with a new one but still no luck.
I also used the cables from the other pc from room 2 that worked normally.
I thought about testing the voltage but like I mentioned... all other electrical devices work in the room.
I even ran an extension cord to the power strip and had that run to an outlet in room 2 and still nothing.
Its the weirdest thing I have ever seen!
I have a new powerstrip that the monitor and pc are plugged into, and I tried both plugs in the outlet. I thought about testing voltage but everything else works normally in the outlets. No lights flicker or pulsate. I even ran an extension cord to an outlet from room 2 and it still didnt work.
pc/monitors need a common ground
Ok. The computer seemd to be running normal, the cpu light ticking away as normal and the power light indicator on the monitor is on. Ill give that a go and see what happens.
As my house is 24 years old now ive been replacing outlets and light switches here and there over the years, especially the outside outlets. You'd be surprised what issues an old outlet can cause and what you can resolve by replacing them. Same goes for outlets controlled by a switch, even a switch can cause issues.
If a problematic outlet is controlled by a light switch thats another thing to look for.
One more thing
Not all rooms are going to be on a separate breaker/wiring, so a faulty outlet in one from can cause issues on the Load side connected to an outlet in different room, having issues with 1 rooms outlet but not another room using the same outlet wiring for example
essentially what you're describing in the OP
If you want to see if both rooms are using the same breaker/wiring you'll need access to the breaker panel and flip off power to one room and see if the other room is affected or not.
If it comes down to it, call an electrician to troubleshoot the outlets if you arent comfortable doing it yourself.
