armory crate asus
hey so i made a custom profile on my AC, it has default pre-sets turbo, performance, silent etc. now i decided i dont want to use manual anymore, question is these settings aint stored on the bios right? like if i format my pc fresh copy of windows 11 it will reset back to a default plan / fan curve?

and if i reinstall the software again on a fresh copy of windows it will even reset the software profiles and remove he manual profile?

if you factory reset the pc then yes obviously it will reset to whatever you have set in the BIOS since armory won't be on the pc

so formatting my pc will wipe this manual profile when i re install AC? so these settings are just custom localised settings, not storing on the bios chip?

the settings on the armory app are stored locally only
if you wipe the pc then obviously it will get wiped off itself and then you'll have to redo the settings on the app
they aren't stored on the bios since the bios has it's own fan controls

cheers. i made a custom fan curve / manual profile and i was getting consistent freezing in game. something went wrong, so i formatted my PC using just default with no software installed and the freezing has gone away. id like to re install AC soon only if it puts everything back to default.

i always used it
bios is too lame in my opinion and doesn't work as easy as the app but it's strange that it would freeze your games
the only current issue with it is that it does not save the profiles

it was like on silent mode, was producing enough wattage game times was very slow and kept freezing, thats like silent mode preset, as this preset is designed for indie games not AAA games

silent mode is bad in my opinion because all fans run too slow

Well isn't that obvious?

WTF is with people insisting on quiet fans. They aren't doing their job if it's too quiet. If you have speakers or use headphones then a quiet PC shouldn't matter too much. It should naturally be quiet when idle or lower loads outside of heavy production software or games anyways

We're talking about when you redo your OS and wipe everything out.

or just dont use it, use bios to set the fan curves and be done with it
