pc keyboard not working when loading steam games

I recently moved and now sometimes my pc keyboard randomly will disconnect, but removing the plug and replugging it back in seems to fix it. EXCEPT for any steam games. as soon as I fully launch any games on steam the keyboard will not work in or out of steam even if I re plug it back in. I'm not sure why it could be doing this as I have the Geforce and steam overlays turned off. I have tried multiple ports on my pc and multiple keyboards without success

Strange.

Maybe try clearing and refreshing the USB drivers.

and make sure the keyboard/mouse are plugged into usb 2.0 ports, not the blue ones

Do not waste your time getting the Chipset Driver from the Motherboard maker though; those will be sorely out of date. Intel, AMD and NVIDIA have the most current up to date drivers for Chipsets and GPUs on their official websites.

For AMD Ryzen Chipset; that would be here:

For NVIDIA GPUs; that would be here:

But the rest, such as Audio, LAN, WIFI, BT; yes get those from the Motherboard maker. Especially since brands such as Realtek no longer offer stand-alone drivers for modern Audio, LAN, WiFi directly on their website anymore.
