My pc is lagging, but its really weird
I just uograded my Gpu to rx 580 (the old one is like a gpu from the proccesor so its like intel smth smth) paired with i5 3470 i thinm it was good enough, but when i played games like 7 Days to die, Warzone, Sniper Elite, Fallout 4, and some low end games. but i noticed something, after i upgraded every games, the fps went down from 40-50 before upgrade to max 30fpsish after my upgrade, its confusing but isnt upgrade supposed to enhance the fps? can someone help whats going on?

bottleneck is when one ore more component is slowing another down

there is always one, if there is not bottlenck, fps would be infinite with vsync off and every sub pixel would be from its own frame

most of the time its cpu or gpu

the rx580 is alot stronger than the r7 2x0
but the i5 3xxx has an intel hd igpu, make sure the display is plugged into the dedicated gpu (rx580) not the mobo hdmi/dvi/vga ports

i hope you installed the new driver for the rx580
download ddu and the new driver,
boot to safe mode and wipe the old drivers and disable windows driver updates
then reboot and install the new driver

depends on where the bottleneck is
3rd gen i5 is so much slower than newer ones
it takes more cpu and gpu for higher fps

if the cpu cant prepare scenes fast enough the gpu cant draw them

i don't really know what a bottleneck is, i have no idea about pc building or stuff like that, but when my brother plays it, (he has the same cpu and r7 200) runs it better, i tried searching r7 vs '580 but it shows that the 580 is better, though in game in getting lower fps than him, whats the solution?

did you install the good driver ? your gpu don't have a mining bios unstead of classic bios ?

what do you mean? i really dont understand s*** with computers lol, what's a good driver and umm, where do i find the rx 580 drivers?

Just removed my old drivers, and gonna try download the drivers, ill let you know
Thank you so much, i worked(?) sometimes the fps dropped from 100 to 40, but its much better rather than playing on 10 fps (im playing 7 days to die)

Im on a rx580 and a 5700x You'll hit the sweet spot with that if you happen to upgrade your cpu. Im unsure if you'd need a new mobo. Cheers.

7d2d min req is 2.8ghz quad
but its still public beta and requirement changes being made every update

i5-3470 will turbo to 3.6, but its base clock is 3.2
if the board or cooler are dusty or airflow is low, it may still throttle lower than that

the 3rd gen i5 has much lower ipc than newer cpus
(ipc = instructions per clock, basically 2 cpus same clock perform differently)
its probably below the recommended core performance for running it at 60+ fps

cpu upgrade will need a new mobo and ram

a new i3 easily beats the old i5

and if its an oem case, it will need a new case and psu
basically upgrade will be an entire new build
ssd is well worth is, speeds everything up

alright, now that i know what to replace, (which is the cpu, and mobo), but i already have a 550w psu isnt that enough tho?? do you guys have a cheap options?? for the cpu and mobo?
7 days to die isn't very well optimized in terms of performance, takes a good CPU since the game is voxel based
_I_ 13.6.2024 klo 21.58
a new psu would be a good idea, and again, if its an oem case, it will need a new case
oem boards are often custom size for their case

imho, i would look into a complete new build

psu is old, may not be up to the task for a new cpu
