All 13900K and 14900K processors are experiencing widespread degradation at the moment which leads to crashing and instability. This is well documented by folks on youtube such as Hardware Unboxed and Gamer's Nexus among others reporting on it. This is not unique to you.

It's suggested that you contact Intel for warranty replacement on your CPU at this time and seek a bios update for your motherboard which should resolve this for your future replacement processor.

Found your post on google searches when looking this same problem. Mine started on 3 days ago and progressively got worse. Always happened in EFT on streets. So, I assume when video memory and transfer speeds are at there highest.

In event viewer I found a load of WHEA Logger 17 errors. All relating to PCI-E issues on my chip-set.

Primary Device Name: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A70D&SUBSYS_50001458&REV_01
Device manager name: Intel(R) PCIe RC 010 G5 - A70D

This was not related to the i9 problems we are currently experiencing.

Problem was my GPU riser cable or electromagnetic interference causing thede crashes and flickering. Since removing the cable I have had 0 issues. I hope this helps.

Raptor lake C.P.Us. have been suffering from a couple of problems. One is a microcode bug that causes them to overagressively turbo up the voltage on individual cores. This problem will be fixed mid-august with a microcode update. Look for B.I.O.S. updates from your manufacturers to apply it.

The other is unfortunately a manufacturing defect that causes the Vias of certain chips to oxidize. All Intel has said about this is that the defect was discovered in 2023 and fixed. Unfortunately, they didn't say when in 2023. My advice would be to R.M.A. your C.P.U. if possible to ensure you don't have one affected by the oxidization issue, then apply the microcode update whenever it becomes available for your motherboard.

14th gen. processors don't seem to be affected by the oxidization issue. Gamer's nexus did a short list of 13th gen processors that one big customer of intel compiled, and 13th gen processors have an especially high R.M.A. rate.[www.tomshardware.com]

Given that the defect was fixed sometime in 2013, it seems probable to me that Intel spotted it when refabing the chips and fixed it for 14th gen. I can make no promises though.

Hey guys so the CPU is actually fine. After installing the latest bios update that intel put out to address the voltage issues with the 13th and 14th gen i9 cpus its been stable and has not had any problems.

HOWEVER my RTX 4090 is completely dead. Turns out its been dying for a while. That pixel issue I mentioned turned out to be a sign of this. Less than 2 years old folks.

I think you didn't hear the recent statement by Intel: "some" 13'th gen processors suffered a physical manufacturing defect at the time of their manufacture. A microcode or bios update will not fix this if you happen to have a 13'th gen part that was damaged. Intel did go on to say that they fixed it during the production run and later-produced 13'th gen processors were no longer effected. If anyone has a 13'th gen processor that is exhibiting wide-spread crashes, blue screens, etc in many different programs and games then contact Intel for an RMA. Intel is honoring RMA's for 13'th gen processors that experience problems and they are replacing them with the "fixed" version.

No I didn't hear that, thank you for letting me know. I bought mine secondhand so I don't think I'd qualify but I also think mine is fine. The bios update solved all issues for me.

I don't know if Intel will cover RMA on second hand processors, due to what's happening they might. I am pleased to hear you solved the problem though. Hopefully no more crashes are in store for you. :steamhappy:

i9 13900kf + RTX 4090 problems

Sounds like an overheating & thermal throtteling issue, isnt it?

Install HWiNFO[www.hwinfo.com], launch it by "Sensors only", keep it running in background, play a game until a game freezes or crashes, check HWiNFO and take a look where red flags have appeared.

Intel 13th and 14th Gen are very resource and power hungry as not aven the biggest CPU Fans are enough. You need a HEAVY AiO Water Cooling System for 13th and 14th Gen!!

So you either install a heavy AiO, or you need to UNDERclock and/or UNDERvolt your CPU.

Let's say from 253W to 80W for its P0-state !! Then a biggest CPU Fan "may be" enough.

Maybe re-apply thermal paste (Arctic MX-6) to your CPU carefully, too.

If a Power-Core throttles, if a few Power-Cores throttle, it causes freezes and/or crashes!!

Good Luck !!

That has nothing to do with anything. Some of Intel's 13'th gen parts were defective from the original factory that manufactured them, which results in these sorts of issues. It's well documented now.

Try disabling the Eco Cores in Bios, it's recommended for gaming anyways.

Actually don't do this. This is bad advice. The e-cores actually help gaming if you are using a modern operating system like Windows 11. They should NOT be disabled for any reason. That will seriously degrade your system performance.

I was having this exact problem, what fixed it for me was updating the BIOS on my motherboard, games would constantly crash and my computer would get very hot. After flashing the BIOS on MB all my problems have been solved games are running perfectly and the computer barely gets warm after hours of game play on max settings
