You are the one that came out of nowhere and insulted me, mind you.
yeah, this would be exactly what you did.
why would you ask for something you yourself know? like pointy things? go somewhere else then.
i dont want to be offensive. i am sorry if i told something unfriendly.
thx for reading.
♥♥.
And if something bad makes it into my machine through my trusted sources, the chances are it's something so new the antivirus won't be able to detect it or the virus will stay in the VM.
Win Defender is good enough. All antiviruses do is get on my way. And contrary to classic Microsoft fashion, Windows Defender is actually a pretty good piece of software that doesn't get in my way and respects my choice. (unlike Microsoft Edge which is the complete opposite)
Lol I use to be like that when ram was kinda limited when like Vista came out, I remember having Vista Home Premium 32bit on on a desktop, and 4gb of available ram was sometimes pushing it in some cases, so I was on top of disabling services, anything in the background I did not recognize or allow it to run, now a days I don't care what so ever with 64GB off ram lol
I use to run Norton years ago. I'm not sure if its still the same but it got to be so bloated that it was as bad as the actual malware it was supposed to protect you from. If I buy antivirus I want antivirus, I don't need all your backup, disk cleaner, cd burning, media player crap.I know you mentioned you like the GUI, I'm the opposite. I want it to run in the background and I never want to see it, Windows Defender does that for me. While I certainly can afford to buy other software I really don't see the need to pay for software that is basically doing nothing for me. If spending a few bucks makes you feel more secure there is certainly nothing wrong with that either.
I'd be curious to know other peoples experiences. If you don't visit sketchy sites or pirate games/software when was the last time you actually had your antivirus flag a legitimate threat? It's been so long for me that I couldn't even tell you, many many years for sure.
:)
