Windows 2000 was the best in my opinion.

endeavour good, manjaro had issues i forgot what
Whats with the Win7 cult? No really.
You claim it has no bugs but it absolutely does.
It still requires a reinstall every 6 months to remain snappy and have a fast boot time. Yes modern Windows does too but to a much lesser extent after Win 8.
It has an inferior memory management system, lacks the VM based security protections that, while not perfect help protect modern Windows.
Unlike modern Windows where you can opt in (should be default) You can't even opt in to support deep file path names.
It lacks modern standards, modern hardware/software support, its less stable, doesn't support modern SSD features etc.
Its just a bundle of deprecated unmaintained security nightmare. The worst part isn't even all the crap you have to put up with using Win7 but its also the crap Win7 users put normal people (yes, normal people. Having a fetish for an obsolete OS isn't normal) through when stuff stops working and we hear you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. YUZU was killed by a Win7 terrorist for gods sake.
Yes, I get you guys liked the UI and less intensive nature. But thats not an OS. The very way you guys talk about it makes it clear you don't know anything about how it operates.
At this point why not just slap a Win7 theme on Linux and call it a day? We're pretty much at the point where Linux is playing more Windows games than Win7 can.
Linux is gaining more users than Win7 is losing.
my win 11 pro install on the other hand, is meh and many things that need fixing by microsoft, but it runs ok.
linux is gaining users, due to steam deck and soon to be steam OS 3.
also to mention, windows in general is a security nightmare, not just win 7 or older, both 10 and 11 have tons of issues dealing with security.
You claiming Win7 doesn't need reinstalling means nothing as its already heavily documented. Its a literal fact of Windows in general. And while newer Windows versions have gotten better at OS stability they have also put more files and strains on a derelict file system that needs replacing.
Plus keep Win7 updated? Theres no updates. Nobody has access to the source code to even make proper updates. What drugs are you on?
yes, keeping it updated when it was receiving updates, also you can use win 7 POS security updates on a win7 pro install, not to mention ESU, if someone was worried about the security
Microsoft Windows has understood that it is full of problems, at the beginning I thought Windows 10 was being undermined to force the transition to 11, the reality is that in the name of security, which we will no longer find with the arrival of AI, the operating system is sending 100% CPU usage.
At this point is it time to apply for a separate operating system for gamers only? I was left with the news about the less use of various consoles.
In the meantime, there's nothing to be done, Linux is definitely faster, there's also a tendency to go back to playing old games, I believe it, if everything new can't run and the video cards continue to burn.
