PSU is fine for it, 4070 is not really power hungry card.
So, you are saying that this Asus 4070 Dual is better solution than these two Gigabyte? Because this Asus Dual is also the most cheapest of all 3 at my local reseller.
Pretty much. I would choose ASUS or MSI over stuff like Gigabyte or Zotac when it comes to GPUs. There are lot of reports of Gigabyte GPU fans breaking down in a year or less or starting to wobble and make noise. Never had issues like that with ASUS myself.
Also some of the more expensive 4070 versions from Gigabyte use the stupid 16-pin PSU connector and that can be annoying to set up with the adapter that is sometimes damn fire hazard if you bend the cables too much.
That ASUS Dual use only one 6+2 pin.
It means they are factory overclocked little higher but that doesn`t really amount to much in overall performance.
Okay. But what's the point in such models at all, then? I mean, this triple fan Gigabyte, for example. If Asus offers better GPU and even for better price, lol.
Also if factory overclock has little impact on performance, I also see no point in it.
Yeah since that difference does not amount to that much. Most card makers have three or four versions of cards with no overclock and with various degrees of factory overclock.
Higher factory overclocks usually have bigger cooling solutions to compensate.
It`s a good way to get more money out from people who just need to have the cutting edge.
Sometimes worth it for better cooling solution and sometimes not.
Go look at AMD 7900 GRE for around $550
Why they are joke? From what I saw, 4060 is indeed a bad choice but 4070 is not. I'm not interested in 4K gaming or something. My current monitor is not even 2K.
Also I use Intel. For AMD one needs Ryzen, as far as I know
the difference between the lowest and the highest here is very small.
7900 GRE or XT will basically give you 4070 / 4070 Ti performance for much less cost.
While the 7900 XTX would give you 4080 performance.
7900 GRE is very good bang for buck right now, pushing out their own 7800 XT due to being priced nearly the same.
Intel vs AMD CPU has not one thing to do with what dedicated GPU card you use. You can use Intel and NVIDIA GPUs on AMD Ryzen CPU as well, it never does matter at all.
I've done tons of AMD CPU + NVIDIA GPU builds over the years, never a problem.
If you do buy any RTX 40 series GPU, then it woukl also be wise to go buy a minimum PSU of around 850W that is latest ATX 3.0 + PCIE 5.0 (12-pin connector for RTX 40/50 series GPUs)
Pls explain better on PSU part - most of PS calculators online I checked give the amount smaller than of 700W with such GPU as RTX 4070.
Also most of resellers write that recommended PSU for 4070 is 650W.
