RTX 4090 Does it matter if I use dual pcie cables?
I have a Rog Strix Thor 1000 psu platinum. I wanted to splurge on the psu just in case of transient power issue. The psu came with three dual 6x2 pin pcie cables. And 4 6x2 single pcie cables. Does it matter which cable I use? As long as all three are plugged into the psu? I only ask because. Everytime I turn on my pc. The graphics are distorted with a green tint. The GPU is Asus Tuf.

That wouldn't affect desktop image quality. Most common culprits are bad cables, using old hdmi cables and not modern 2.1 ones or Display Port, monitor going out, or worst case card is bad and needs RMA'd

Use the eight pin to eight pin cables not the eight pin to dual eight pin cables.
A green tint sounds like a monitor or hdmi/display port issue to me. Maybe check if your monitor is calibrated weirdly, or test it with a different PC to see if the green tint reoccurs. if it does, then you know it isn't the graphics card at fault, if not then you've got more investigating to do.

I don't think there's any chance that it would be caused by the power supply cables. If something was wrong with the cables, you would probably have no display output at all.

Thanks for your help. I just bought a display port to hdmi adaptor. And the gpu works. But only at 4k 60hz. I was using older cables. But one cable said 8 k. It was made in china. I will try to find a better cable.

Single cables recommended. Duals work but may not work perfectly

Adapters may not be able to provide the full full resolution, refresh rate, colours, hz and def no G-Sync/Freesync and thats assuming the cable you bought supports the res and hz you're looking for

8k cable doesn't mean much without knowing the specs of the cable. What hz? HDR?

What res and refresh rate do you want?

EDIT: Just fixed the quote

I use a Sony A90 J Oled. I prefer nice graphics to framerate. So 4k 60 FPS is ideal. I hope the new cable solves the issue. The adaptor I purchased was an amazon basics 4k 60 hz adaptor. I have been burnt buying pretty shiny gold plated hdmi cables from china before.
