I don't think there's any chance that it would be caused by the power supply cables. If something was wrong with the cables, you would probably have no display output at all.
Adapters may not be able to provide the full full resolution, refresh rate, colours, hz and def no G-Sync/Freesync and thats assuming the cable you bought supports the res and hz you're looking for
8k cable doesn't mean much without knowing the specs of the cable. What hz? HDR?
What res and refresh rate do you want?

I use a Sony A90 J Oled. I prefer nice graphics to framerate. So 4k 60 FPS is ideal. I hope the new cable solves the issue. The adaptor I purchased was an amazon basics 4k 60 hz adaptor. I have been burnt buying pretty shiny gold plated hdmi cables from china before.
