Ever since I updated my graphics cards drivers I have been getting major lag and bad performance on a Nvidia gt 755m. In all games except fallout new vegas tryed going back to default. didnt work the games I am trying to play are both batman arkham asylum and city all three bioshock games and elder scrolls V skyrim all of these are lagging to high heavon. When I was getting better performance on a amd radeon 7670m on a previous laptop. The only thing that fixes it is going to factory setting which then if I update drivers for graphcs again then boom lag starts all over again oh thats sorry its a Lenovo Y410p gaming laptop. All advice and help is appreciated except telling me to get a desktop as I dont have any more money left Thanks.

For those laptops with onboard Intel HD GPU and dedicated NVIDIA GPU this is what I've had to do in the past.

> Uninstall current drivers/software for NVIDIA via Control Panel > Programs and Features.

> Reboot when asked. If it must reboot before completely uninstalling all NVIDIA related listings, do that and then finish the uninstall process for the rest of NVIDIA programs.

> Reboot when asked.

> After you reach desktop, let Windows install Generic VGA Display Driver (if it does this part).

> If asked to reboot again, please do so.

> After you reach desktop, now uninstall the Intel HD Graphics Drivers (if u have other Intel device, such as Wired Ethernet, or WiFi Adapater, those drivers should be fine as-is). When asked to reboot click No, or Later.

> Then uninstall the Intel INF Chipset Drivers if present in the program listing. If asked to reboot, click Yes.

> Again Windows may install a generic vga display driver, let that finish. If asked to reboot after it has finished, click Yes. If it does not ask, please manually reboot/restart anyways.

> Now go to the Intel Driver Updates page > http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
Click "Check system for updates" to scan your system, once the full listing comes up, download the latest available Intel HD Graphics Drivers and also the Intel INF Chipset Drivers.

> Downloads complete, close out browser and background apps, run the Intel INF Chipset Driver u just downloaded by right clicking the file and click Run As Admin. Once it finishes, it should ask to reboot, please do so.

> After reboot, now run the Intel HD Graphics Driver file u download, again right click it and click Run As Admin. Reboot when it has completed.

> Then download the latest available NVIDIA GPU Drivers >
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/70187/en-us
and install that. Once u get this far, you really should have no need to update Intel INF or Intel HD drivers in the future. For future updates, you would simply just want the latest available NVIDIA GPU Drivers, to help with overall game performance and such.

Also in future, be sure to keep OS up to date via Windows Updates. However do not use any device drivers from their, as they can often cause problems.
