TV vs Monitor question for PS4

I know when you play PC games on a TV the aspect ratio gets screwed up and the lettering gets small. Is the same true if you play PS4 on a monitor? Will the lettering get huge?

I am in need of a new PC and I priced the one out that I want and its going to be $1700 for the tower and I don't know if I am ready to make that king of investment right now.

viewing a console on a monitor will work, youll just see the entire screen, may have a border

Tv's are monitors with a tuner.

Long time ago stuff would be "screwed" up yes, but now you can run a pc to a tv and it will look fine, as long as you turn off overscan like the other guy said. That being said you have to go into game mode or suffer lag
