If you want to play DayZ, you must install Windows. DayZ is not compatible with Linux.

Try Linux Mint. DayZ does require windows but there is a slim chance you might be able to get it working on WIne / Winetricks / PlayonLinux by tomorrow, these are programs for running WIndows stuff on Linux and I've got Skyrim and stuff working like that.

Here is a link to Linux MInt, get 64bit, I recommend Cinnamon but get something else if it gifves you any trouble.

Last I checked Linux Mint could run Steam for Linux & also WIne well enough. Graphics drivers might be a bit of a pain to install but Steam might do it for you and both AMD and Nvidia provide Linux drivers on their website for all their cards, it's just a pain to do the manual install.

Steam OS doesn't even support AMD GPUs last time I checked, much less APUs.

Try a more mature version of Linux that isn't in Beta testing.

If you don't like Linux Mint there are others also.

I knew Rove would pop in here to tell the OP to use Wine.

Rove, he's referring to his BIOS as the "bio or what ever it is called". How on Earth is he going to install, maintain and troubleshoot a Linux OS with such a low level of expertise?

He needs to install Windows. Not Steam OS, not Linux Mint, not Ubuntu. Windows.

If you did read his post you would see he said he "didnt have enough money for windows 8".

Chaz, I use Windows. I don't know why you hunt me across the forums.

I'm also aware that it's possible to use Linux and Wine if Windows is not available for whatever good reason. I am enthusiastic about the possbility of Linux for gaming. As I said though, I use WIndows. Not that I couldn't use Linux, just that Windows is easier right now for most games.

So no Chaz, as he said he needs to install Linux. It's all he can afford to use.

When he has the money he can make the choice to buy Windows or not. Anything else is forbidden for discussions on these forums under threat of ban.

I don't make the rules, I just try and follow them.

Remove your HDD, then you should be able to get in to BIOS since you won't have a messed up HDD trying to boot. If that does not work contact your Motherboard Manufacturer for support.
