gtx 760 SLI problem

My problem is that 2nd cards standard vga driver insalation fails. If i install nvidea latest drivers i get message "this pc is sli capable". However once i enable sli my games dont display correctly. It looks like the screen is moving about and tearing but if i dedicate second card to phyzx it runs fine. I would obviosly rather run sli. How do i fix this please?.

thanx for your detailed response. If have fixed it, it was a problem with windows. I ran a backup from last year and it worked instantly. thanx again.

well it appears that what i thought was the problem is not after all. I have my SLI running but its not right. I restored from a earlier system image with old drivers and both cards and SLI bridge installed and everything seemed fine. That is untill I tried installing the new drivers, as soon as the new driver installation removed old drivrs (I did uninstall old drivers with control panel and run driver sweeper but same result. Hense trying to let driver setup unistall drivers) i was right back to square one. Which basicly is SLI wont display correctly but will run second card if dedicated to physx.

this is my rig:
WIN 7 64 Bit
AMD FX (tm)-8120 Eight Core Processor 4.23 GHz clocked. I have tried default clock settings.
16 GB Ram 1600 Mgz
GTX 760 x 2 both are MSI Twin Frozer and are identical

my monitor is FLATRON M2762D FULL HD Monitor TV connected with DVI converter to HDMI.

MB GIGABYTE, GA-990FXA-UD3 REV 1.2 with latest BIOS

I have tried many combinations of installing with one or two cards, SLI bridge, without SLI bridge, Clean windows install and BIOS reset to defaults. However always the same result.
I have run SLI on this rig before with much older cards with no problem.
Im at my wits end now and desperate to resolve this.

I eagerly look forward to any suggestions.

Maybe try the old drivers from Nvidia website?

Sort of. Though the newest drivers may have unfixed bugs.

I only just recently updated from 312.22... cant tell you what I'm running at the moment 'cos I'm on a different machine.

It's all a bit of trial and error, or google-fu.

The problem is before i install Nvidea drivers, its the standard VGA drivers. If i install the Nvidea drivers without the VGA 1st i get Display issues.

Have you tried installing the drivers with only 1 GPU installed, testing on a game for problems then installing the 2nd GPU(with the PC off course)? The 2nd GPU should install without needing to install the drivers with them installed at the same time.

Also, Anything the nvidia driver installed UNINSTALL THEM. Make sure you do Custom Install and ONLY install the driver and PhysX.

What powersupply do you have?

Also, Driver Sweeper is outdated and no longer supported and hasnt been for some time. Driver Fusion is Driver Sweepers replacement and is made by the people that created Driver Sweeper. As its updated for current GPUs you may have better luck with it, Driver Sweeper hasnt been updated since way before the 700 series GPUs came out.

That was informative thankyou. I havent tried only one card install vith Nvidea drivers and then installing second card. With power off of course lol. Driver fusion will be on its way momentaraly.

2x 760 in sli = 340w just for the gpus
most pcs are under 300w without a gpu
if your psu is under 650w or low quality it will have problems with it

what brand are those 760's? what is your psu? do you have another sli bridge to test before i had the gtx 690 i had gone through several bridges as they seem to be faulty and also break really easily? can you post a screenshot of what it looks like? try enabling v-sync.

PSU is Novarech Power Station 1000.
GTX 760 x 2 both are MSI Twin Frozer and are identical.

tried using v sync? might just be some really bad tearing
