Though i personally consider them to be a cheapy brand when compared to ASUS and the like.
is there a motherboard in particular that ur looking at?
I used ASUS and Gigabyte myself. MSI is not bad too for Intel CPU's, just avoid it for AMD.
I buy Asus because the customer service is awesome, in my experiences. But considering Asrocks history and current competitive trend, id say buying Asrock board would be a good choice.
if your going to use a dedicated gpu, go with an i3 or i5 instead
Check this bad boy out for example http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_z87i_ac_review_gaming_itx,1.html
I would personally suggest the ASUS ROG series (Republic of Gamers) or high-end Gigabyte motherboards, such as the G1 Sniper. Why? Not due to the overclocking abilility but because of that they use much higher quality components. Great room for the graphic card(s). The layout is also much better than standard motherboards and you will find them much easier to work with and allow for future proofing/updates. They also tend to have most of the features gamers are looking for - separated part for quality 5.1 surround sound onboard audio, higher performance/monitored network/ethernet, high-end capacitors, 4-way SLI or CrossFireX, USB 3.0 onboard acceleration, ultra durable technology, multiple fan control and digital power controllers (12 or more Phase Power).
i prefer ASUS myself, but MSI does have some good high end boards.
Though id suggest MSI over a brand like ASRock when it comes to Intel.
My 1155 ASrock extreme4 however has been flawless running an overclocked 3570k. been going strong for quite awhile now.
I think they are pretty decent motherboards. My AMD board dying was my own fault i beleive.
