Disabling a sli graphics card for certain games.
Hi guys, I have Y500 with a GT750m and recently got a second GT750m ultrabay and have since installed it. The problem is it works great in sli for some games like SR4, Tomb Raider and Metro LL but not so well in games like Counter Strike GO. My laptop plays GO just fine with a single GT 750m in GO anyway, I wanted the second graphics cards for other games I wanted a boost in.

So my question is, is there a safe way to disable the second graphics card for certain games (like CSGO). I guess GO doesn't support sli so I knew I might run into issues like micro stutter but I thought there would be a way disable it in NCP. The only way I've found to disable it is in device manager without taking the graphics card all the out but that would be a pain.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should be able to disable it in the Nvidia controll panel:

See i don't have ''Advanced settings'' option in my Nvidia control panal and I have the very latest driver installed. I was hoping to have alittle more control of my my config like that. I wonder if that's only or desktops. Thanks for the suggestion though.

There's a box in the nvidia control panel to enable/disable sli. You can also dedicate a single card to physx only. If the settings aren't there, I'd download and re-install the most current driver.

I may just have to try reinstalling the driver (331.82), cause I'm not seeing any of those settings.

Don't got an Nvidia card myself, so I can't go into specifics, but you must find something branded SLI in the controll panel?

Yeah that's what I thought, I'm redownloading the driver right now and hopefully it shows up.

Im on 8.1 and have already installed all the 8.1 drivers from the Lenovo site and you're right that vga bios update was one of them which I already installed.

I'm wondering now if I need that specific driver listed right under that VBIOS update in order to work properly.

Edit; I'm quite certain i need to downgrade to that 327.62 driver that Lenovo offers. That's the only driver/update I didnt install becasue I figured why would I want an older driver than the one I have already installed. But I may need it for everything to work properly, so I'm crossing my fingers it fixes my issue.

Small bump, I'd like to thank everyone for your help and I got sli working now(A sigh of relief when I restarted my computer and the little window opped up that said ''sli needs to be enabled''). I didn't execute the Vbios update properly and running msinfo32 told me I didn't have the v2.04 update installed (I was still on the v2.02).
