Need a CPU Fan
Hi guys, I need to know what I should replace. At idle, GPU fan is at 1200, Case fans are 1500, and CPU fan is at 3660. I'm guessing I could get away with replacing only the CPU fan, so any suggestions on what I should buy for it? I would like a fan under 40$ preferrably, and I'm not sure if the heatsinc is nessessary or not. I also have no idea what size this is in milimeters, its unlabeled as far as I can tell.

If you're replacing the fan, might as well replace the heatsink - the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is supposedly the best cooler in terms of heat and noise for under $40. Unless you're into serious overclocking, this will be all the cooler you ever need

However, make sure you check that your case can accomodate a cooler that tall. Also, I'm assuming you're upgrading from AMD or Intel stock cooling

Its Cyberpower, meaning its just a bunch of low-down brands put together. I like the one you are suggesting, I might buy it.

The bestbuy people told me it could overclock when I bought it, but it can't. Refund policy ensures that you can't return it if you figure out that it can't overclock, so its a well thought out scam.

That's not bad for the money.
As said, 212 Evo.
Is there a case fan equivalent of the 212 Evo? Like, something that will also last 40,000 hours and has about the same DBA?

Incase I need to replace the case fans too

Cooler Master Sleeve Bearing 120mm Silent Fan for Computer Cases
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052

its a 4 pack of 120mm fans, often for under $10ar
extremely quiet and good airflow and low rpm will last a long time
(excellent case fans, poor on heatsinks/rads)

Buying that also, though I have a problem with my PC - it shuts down in the middle of games on occasion. Is this certainly a cooling problem, or is my power supply at fault?
Monitor the CPU & GPU temps. What are they hitting for max?

Good suggestion, Illl play a game In a couple minutes and figure it out.
Well cooling alone does not suggest that u could overclock; as that would have to do more with what motherboard and cpu u have; not just the cooling.

But even if u can OC, u will want to first figure out what is causing the random reboot/shutdowns first.

I can't overclock and thats not the goal either. I just want to play games on normal. I'll start playing a game now and I'll check my temps.

Ok, temperatures hover around 47, 58, and 26 degrees celcius after 10 minutes of gameplay. Power supply failure?

AMD FX 8120, 8 core processor. Its kind of trash really. The only non-trash componets I have are the seagate hard drive and the graphics card.
