Motherboard/CPU RAM bundle help please.
Hi,

My hard drive is about to die so I thought now's the time to replace the motherboard and CPU, meaning new RAM as well.

I found this deal which is the absolute maximum of my budget of £300 and I'm looking for something that will future proof my machine for a reasonable time to come. I'm not looking for "Ultra high max" settings or anything.

I have a Sapphire AMD HD 7700 graphics card and 500W supply.

Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Ah sorry, should've explained that I was going to delay upgrading my old dual core setup until mid 2014. Now I've got to change the drive too I might as well get the whole lot done.

It looks good enough in my eyes, but if you want a better video card in the future, you might need a better PSU.

I would recommend an AMD processor. You generally get more 'bang for buck' than with an Intel. Look out for an Athlon X4 760K (£60), FX 6300 (£80) or an FX 8350 (£120). When it comes to gaming you dont need to send a ton of money (>£250) on a CPU, as it is the graphics card that does all of the rendering.

Hope this helped.

what dual core setup do you have?
i3 duals are still good, as good or better than amd quads yet
