guide for finding a better gpu
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html
First all of thing. What are your budget? Max cost you can afford?
Bad PC makers will put it in a PC with the title "SUPER EPIC HIGH POWERED FLAMING GAMING PC HIGH POWERED DEDICATED GRAPHICS TO THE MMMMMAAAAAAXXXXX"
Intel integrated graphics are better, and not just by a tiny margin.
If any PC comes with this card, its a good time to step back and really evaluate it.
by older games i mean starcraft broodwar, diablo2, xonotic, dwarfs, command and conquer, doom3 (non bfg edition), halo (original halo), some of the older need for speed, any of the tycoon games, maybe minecraft, etc... do NOT expect it to play battlefield, cod:mw, sc2, d3, rift, wow, or anything similar.
There are 5 year old cards that are better than it from the top end of those old series.
It will work for simple tasks. For gaming the better integrated graphics like the best Intel HD or the GPUs in AMDs A10 APUs would be a lot better.
For a separate card minimum I would recommend would be HD 7790 or GTX 660.
Below that I would recommend just buy a AMD A10 5800K or 6800K APU and use integrated graphics till you can afford a real card.
If you want a good NVIDIA GPU for gaming, then u need to consider ones of the x50 model or higher. Such as GTX 650 or better.
What are the rest of your current hardware specs & OS?
What is your max spending budget for upgrades?
So we could determine what would be best based on your needs and budget.

GPUs for today, this is what you will want to look towards for a minimum...
> NVIDIA GTX 650 or 660
> AMD Radeon 7770 or R7 260X
If you have a build (or plan to build) based around a Haswell LGA-1150 board and CPU, then u could even get away with using the onboard Intel HD 4000 series GPU. Or if you have AMD APU of around the A8 or A10 series; these types of low-end onboard GPU can run DX/OGL games for the most part.
Just keep in mind that if you rely on such onboard GPUs to save money, you can not expect to crank up the in-game visuals, or even run smoothly in some games above 720p or so. But if you are building right now, or already have CPUs with such onboard GPUs, that is a fair option that can at least get you started until u save up more for a decent dedicated GPU card.
