Best laptop cooling system/pad
I recently purchased an expensive gaming laptop and want it to remain cool and silent I really don't care about the price as long as my laptop remains not melted...

If it really was a good quality laptop, it shouldn't need it unless you choose to play it on a bed(Fabric) or in a position that blocks vents(My knee blocks off one of the 2 main vents on mine if I have it on my lap).
So what I would say, nearly any cooling pad would do, just to keep it elevated. My cooling pad hasnt worked for a year, but I still keep my laptop on it.

Now if your laptop is overheating, possibly due to not being worth the money(looking at you alienware) or just has ridiculous components in it(Sager laptop with desktop processors at over 4Ghz) then maybe getting a heavy duty one would be woth it.

Thanks, but I just didn't want to risk it, and considering this has an AMD cpu I worry over the heat

intel CPU's can overheat too. Look at haswell and Ivy Bridge.

Yes, overheating can happen to any system, regardless of the specs/parts.

As far as AMD versus Intel in a laptop. The AMD CPUs aren't too bad, but u just do not see them much anymore and when u do, that usually means it is coupled by a Radeon GPU.

Overall the mobile version of parts from Intel, AMD, NVIDIA are pretty much all made to be able to run @ a max temp of around 105*C so I wouldn't worry too much. If you are buying a gaming laptop or are just a gamer in general, then u should know to monitor your temps and such. And that anything above 80-85*C or higher is bad news.

I have an Intel laptop that is always overheating. Laptops are junk unless you buy a really expensive one with better cooling & specs. Even those should have a good cooling pad. I've always prefered desktops. They never give me the kind of problems laptops do.

I mostly use ASUS, MSI, Clevo, Lenovo brand laptops.
Never had any cooling issues or need for a pad, ever after years of gaming use.
However, sometimes u might need to replace the internal fan(s). PITA but if u don't mind taking them apart, then it really isn't an issue. I just wish the fans lasted longer, but often times, they usually do not.

But yea if u buy good laptops, there shouldn't be that need to buy extra things like cooling pads. But if u live in areas where it is really hot, then u will probably still need extra external cooling, regardless of your laptop design.
