display driver crash and recovered
my r7 260x keeps crashing and recovers, its completely random. some days i will get a crash and others i dont. i can play 5 horus straight befor ei get a crash or i can just login and 2 seconds later a crash. it always recovers afterwards. i dont think i need to return it because ingame theres no stuttering or random frame drops, it plays smoothly. i think its CCC. if anyone has this problem with their radeon cards then please say tell me how you deal with this. also im not using a 1080p monitor. its a old monitor that is 1280x1024. i just build this pc and this i was the only monitor i could find in the house. im getting a new 1080p one by christmas.

temp seem fine but on the mobo it say tempearture #6 is 110 c which i dont know where that is. gpu is at 26c . my power is corsair cx 600w

ok...i dont know if this is the problem but open hardware monitor says that my gpu memory maxmim is 300mhz but its actually has 1650 mhz capability...

When viewing hardware monitor apps, it will not display the spec'd MHZ clocks (basically what is listed for full load clocks) as the GPU will auto-downclock when it is under light usage in Windows.

To see it jump up to full clocks as well as view the % of GPU Core usage or VRAM amount usage, let the HWM run in background while u run a game or benchmark. Then view the monitor after closing your DX/OGL app out, or ALT+TAB to view the HWM.

The sensor for 110*C, that is most likely one that just does not exist for your motherboard, so it can get a reading like that due to such issues. And again, 26*C for GPU, that is because it is idle.

Run some lengthy tests with a DX/OGL test so it puts high load on the CPU & GPU, and then view your temps after about 10-15 mins.

im looking at hwm and it says max gpu memory is 300mhz and on CCC it says the same thing

And I explained why that is. It won't display the correct #s if it is just sitting in Windows doing nothing. In other words u are not running anything stressful to force a high enough load on the GPU to run at it's normal full clock speeds. Believe me, when u run a DX/OGL app, it will auto raise the GPU clock up to full speed.

As for GPU Driver not responding, what do you have for the following...

> Power Supply (PSU) Brand & Model#
> OS version (and is it 32bit or 64bit)
> Which version AMD Catalyst do you have installed?

Where u looking at the 300Mhz? in CCC?
U need an app that can monitor Min/Max, because if u ALT+TAB to look at an app that does not show Min/Max of values, your GPU clock drop as soon as switch back to desktop.

Try using GPU-Z > http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/

i already have it and its not telling me waht the memory clock speed currently is, its jsut telling me the base clock
Ok what about these...

i just told you..
*Sorry I missed the "edit" ;)
http://imgur.com/dcznD2T so i put the hangar module and the core clock doesnt change

Do u by any chance have the OC option unlocked in CCC?
If so re-lock it. Then reboot and try a game that was random crashing before.
As with OC in CCC unlocked, an app such as Afterburner can conflict with CCC and vice-versa.

Also, ignore Afterbuner atm, I think they need to update that for Radeon R-series GPUs.
Use GPU-Z instead.

EDIT:
Ok apparently I missed the update...
Here is newest Afterburner that support Radeon R9 series GPUs.

i have that AB, right now im going to reinstall the driver. if that doesnt work, i will just buy r9 280x tomorrow and see if i that works or not or if the driver is just ♥♥♥♥

OKAY IM OFFICALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, overdrive was in conflict with after burner so its working perfectly now. im still getting random crashes though. i will get a r9 280x tomorrow and see if theres any difference, if not i will move on to a gtx 760

Yea if u want to use Afterburner properly, do not use any OC unlocks within CCC or OverDrive. On certain games, Afterburner's OSD feature can cause issues. So turn that off and see if u still get crashes.

Also make sure u have latest Windows Updates.
