could also be my cold boot issues with am5 were the keyboard and mouse malfunctions which is caused by memory
if you restart your pc does the issue go away? and if so is it always after the first boot of the pc (cold boot) if so try without xmp/docp/expo
Then it works for a while and suddenly stops.
Some days ago I reinstalled Windows and now there are some things different. Like key symbols on the hard drive icons, caused by BitLocker, I think. And in the task manager are Antimalware Services active, which I can't shut down. I don't know, if that's important to know...
Randomly, when my keyboard starts to mock around, my mouse does too. Then it's like I'd press the shift key. Oh, and the mouse scroll stops working too...
I don't know what to do. Maybe a new keyboard and mouse? But maybe they're innocent and the problem stays. :/
What was the other issue before Win10 took the feature away which is present on Win11 had something to do with Memory Integrity and every time I turned it on then plugged in my older MIDI device the system would whack out on me and at times pushed a restart loop from cold boot until the device was disconnected.
In the windows settings for keyboards is the keyboard listed with driver error. But i can't do anything. And the keyboard connects and disconnect in a loop.
Even the on-screen keyboard doesn't work properly when the keyboard goes crazy.
And yes, i have Windows 11.
How can i update the drivers? There's not such an option in my device settings or manager.
Edit: there is an option with right click and search for updates in the device manager. But it says, that the drivers are up to date.
it always grabs generic, never specific for the mobo and others stuff
get the mobo chipset/usb/lan/audio drivers from the mobo mfg site
older and correct is always better than the latest generic driver
Because of the reset of my windows.
Where can i find my mobo specs?
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
I hope it helps.
Sometimes, I will run SFC first because if that fails, then I use DISM to fix SFC, now if DISM were to fail at fixing SFC, this is a whole other can of worms.
Some people will suggest DISM first then SFC but now you don't know if DISM even helped solve SFC issues.
If the driver has failed, and it is a PNP keyboard (plug n' play), then those drivers are located already on the Windows OS in the backup driver folder within 'Device Manager', manual update but you need to know the specific version.
As for devices with specific drivers, you will get that from wherever and updating the Chipset Drivers' could be a plausible solution IF you are using AMD Ryzen.

The Win11 especially update 24H2 really is not so great in itself as I mainly use Win10 (why mess with the best stable OS right? Only took me 6 months to stabilize it.
Now if I remember, the keyboard I was using on the older PC, I had to use the USB ports in the front/top instead of the back and then out of nowhere vice-versa, if USB applicable.
If it is Bluetooth, much easier solution.
get the drivers from them, but not software
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/desktops
i hate hp/dell/aliendell
they take a good cpu, and pair it in a board that cant even run it at its rated spec
this is the board
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/GPkAAOSw5aVjWkLC/s-l1600.webp
it cant even run a 60w cpu without throttling, vrm is 3+1+1, no heatsinks
it depends on the cpu cooler to cool the vrms mosfets
you cant upgrade just the board, since its not standard atx case or psu
when it was new, it would been worth the $150-200 to put it in a standard atx case/mobo/psu and get a better ram kit for it
I checked with SFC and DISM and both say everything's good.
And I have a pnp keyboard, a Logitech K120.
@ _I_
There are many drivers suggested, so I didn't know which to take. I let HP check my system and they also say there's nothing to do.
Well, my whole pc is like five years old.
You think it's a hardware problem, not related to the input devices?
What I don't get is, why the error only occurs when using specific software like Steam or Microsoft Edge. I don't use Outlook Express but I detected that it's causing the same problems.
Also: why does it works sometimes and then not? It can work in Steam, but then I change the users or restart it and the problem starts again.
