do i need Stabilizer / Auto Voltage Regulator
so iam looting a AVR from my office, it's a Stavol-500 , iam just Crious do we still need those?my psu is seasonic GX-850 prime, Watt consumtion probablly only 500watt ish for my PC
if does i need Stabilizer, should i upgrade to Stavol-1000watt
and i heard modern PSU already have own Stabilizer

and ac-dc converters are fine or better with square wave than sine

those are for old ac motors, where frequency controls their speed, and any noise can reduce its power output

I would seriously consider getting one. I have a Cyber Power model and it works great. I view it as an added layer of protection. This particular mode; while detecting a surge or a dip in power; makes a beeping sound and the battery backup kicks in allowing you enough time to do a normal shutdown. I have my PC mid- tower and my 4K monitor hooked up to it.You never know when you might need it.

Yes, since psu doesnt protect your other pc parts from brownouts. i usually get a ups/volt regulator that can handle twice of my psu max wattage

And yes, ups (not psu) usually alr comes with avr

the op did not post an ups tho, thats just a regulator or ac motor controller

Ups sry, i misread that. And if im not mistaken, didnt seasonic psu trip easily when handling ampere gpu power spike?

iirc some psus did not play nice with some gpus at game loads

i think it was more to do with the psus hold up time (how well it deals with low input voltage spikes) and when using 60hz display and vsync so the gpu spikes power during the low phase in the 60hz ac cycle
I did asking seasonic , and they said old manufactured before 2018 had that issue, and not because faulty but it just too sensitive , it just overprotective about spike .

Other psu dont have because it seems dont care about that stuff, i think

i just wanted to know, is it relevant having AVR like that, if we have good psu ,

not worth having

the protection it was tripping was on the output side of the psu not input
