Charging light won't go off at 100% after steam deck recent updates.
Hey people...

Steam deck issue...

I know via reddit and other sites that people are having issues with the charging light staying on and not going off when plugged in and hits 100%.

Shutdown system, charged all day and the light doesn't go off, letting you know that it's fully charged. It turns off when not plugged in. But before when charging it would go off, giving the indication that its fully charged. Now, it just stays on if plugged in even at 100%.

Is anyone else having these issues??

Thanks for your reply. But I didn't see anything specific that would help the issue. I've read other places and sent them to support and support told me to post here. Considering they told me to factory reset retest. If that didn't work then reimage. But just before reimaging I found threads with people having the same issue. Strange!
Seems to be more people with this charging light not going off on their steam deck. I'm baffled as to why no one has posted about it here. Or maybe many haven't noticed it yet?

As this thread was moved by the moderators, have you ever thought about reading this?

I think the point is that there is a dedicated SteamDeck subforum where Valve posts patch notes, and users post Bug Reports, and discuss these topics.

Yes I have read it, but the charging light is supposed to go off and may turn back on to trickle charge. I have updated to the latest firmware which was supposed to fix the fact the light stays on when fully charged. Instead it stays on all the time when plugged in. Fully charged or not. But doesn't go off to notify the fact that it is charged...

Normal behaviour would be it turns off when fully charged and comes on every X amount of time for a few minutes then go off again...

Now it just stays on all the time when plugged in!...

Yeah I get this now lol. Was a n00b move on my behalf as was given the link and told to post here by support. My fault for not checking the subforums!...

May I add, support told me to factory reset, if that didn't work to reimage the device. Hours of setups and tinkering lost. I haven't reimaged yet. But support know of this issue/situation.

Yet if the charging light staying on permanently when plugged in is normal. It would of saved me a whole lot of hassle! Ah well. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.
