Good quality inexpensive pc speakers
Question to audio experts, are there somewhat good quality speakers under 50$? I'm not looking for home theater, just a basic speakers with audible bass and enough volume for games/movies. By audible I mean audible, not necessarily a cinema level earthquake that would wake up my neighbors. Are any of these good enough for an average user:
- real-el s-250
- f&d a110
- microlab m300
- defender aurora s20

If you can score something like Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 for under $200; they are very well worth it.
Nope, too expensive for me. What's the difference from cheaper speakers in terms of sound quality?

Under like $150 = Junk

Better off buying a studio quality headset for around $120 or less then.

Explain why its junk. Its like saying that monitors under 240hz are junk. I'm not going to buy speakers than cost half of my gpu. Especially given that I live in a country with ♥♥♥♥ economy where average salary is around $500

Well I'm simply going off US available products / US prices

Who knows, in your country maybe a quality set can be found for $50 I don't know.

Best to find a forum or Reddit thread with folks from your country or something along those lines who could better help.

Overall, if you must, just connect an extension cable and some $5 ear-buds.

When I prefer to Monitor Panels like that, it's because all you are generally going to find that is under 240Hz and not OLED, it's basically going to be panels from around 2012-2016 era.

I got some Edifier bookshelf speakers. They were about $130. They sound nice and look good too.

No such forums exist. At least I haven't found one. That's why I'm asking here. Our local stores are filled with noname chinese trash and vast majority is fine with it. Speakers from reputable brands like Klipsch or Edifier are are either unaffordable or nonexistent here

Well Klipsch ProMedia PC Speakers are not produced anymore, best you'll find for that brand outside of expensive Home Theater stuff will be the ProMedia 2.1 or 5.1, and refurbished. They were generally easy to work on and every few years needs some Caps replaced. But the sound quality is about the best there is for those prices and for a 2.1 / 5.1 analog speaker system with it's own power supply designed for 3.5mm audio jack.

A similar quality system would be the THX models from Logitech, offered in both a 2.1 and 5.1 system very similar to the Klipsch systems.

I have some edifiers too, However i connected my old sub woofer to it and got awesome sound.

You just need input and output connectors on your sub.

I would suggest the same for anyone, much better sound.

Usually the amp or the speaker cone cant handle high volume. It will start to produce crackling sound.

Idk what you expect from a 50$ speaker, but quality often comes with a price

that probably wasnt a y cable, but an attenuator cable, converting the speaker level output to rca line level for use with home stereo equipment

pc jacks can output line or speaker level

any larger speakers powered from usb is going to sound like crap
usb 2.x can only output 5v @ 2a = 10w max to both speakers and sub if it has one
and also needs to do lfe processing/filtering

at around $100 look for a sound bar
most are also junk since the speakers are so small, but if you find one with a powered sub it should do the job good enough

ones like this might not be bad, but no way its little wallwort is 200w, and sub is passive not powered

It's impossible to tell if it's bad or good by watching on a monitor with integrated sound. Also people tend to dislike plastic staellites for some reason. That's why I'm unsure what to choose
