Getting steam to work proprly on rhel 9.5
I have recently switched back accross from ubuntu to rhel 9 because i have a rhel subscription however I have found i cannot install using rpm and have had to resort to snap pack. when installed steam will launch but games wont launch. Games that worked fine under ubuntu like satisfactory, runescape, etc they will not even launch on rhel.

Has anyone been able to get this working?

RHEL is poor for general usage and especially for gaming. Reason being its old software. 9.5 for example ships with Linux 5.14 which is a 3 year old kernel.

before moving to ubuntu i was running RHEL 8 and it would run these games fine. I found when moving to ubuntu that I took a hit to stability hence why i want to switch back to rhel, Rhel 10 is coming out soon would that work better?

Maybe just use Fedora? It is what RHEL is based upon.

When paying for the subscription you are paying for the support not the software. You are probably not using the support, so cancel it and get CentOS instead if you want a RHEL experience.

Why?

Is this something that you're using from your company?

RHEL is not a gaming OS, it's almost used exclusively for business purposes and thus you have the tradeoff of stability over bleeding edge kernel/driver support.

I am using redhat workstation 9.5 update lasted patch. When you run game on steam it will block by SELinux just disable it and reboot then enjoy your game. See my PC with redhat 9.5 from below,
