Options other than GEForce Now
I currently use GE Force Now to play steam games on my TV without the need for Steam Link. I hate the GE Force price and inability to Mod games. Is there an affordable option like a TV Box that I can use to play Steam games such as BG3 without having to use Steam Link?

if you want to mod games, the only option is to build a pc for the tv that is capable of playing the games

or a console
any xbox one or series s/x with gamepass can cloud play the latest games

Give us more info. Which resolution and in-game settings do you prefer? What's your budget?

This isn't a guessing game for us in the forum lol.

Have you considered.. I don't know.. connecting a display cable from your computer to your TV?

thats what a steam link does
remote play, using your host pc to stream games to the tv, using steam link hardware, app or compatible device, nvidia moonlight/sunshine or whatever its called can do that too, or ms remote display

but gf now, and xbox cloud use their server and their stream games wont support mods

It's as if you can't read... I guess I need to explain my words to you: If they connected a cable directly from the TV to their computer then they wouldn't need to stream anything. 🤦‍♀️

tv not always that close enough to host pc for that
there are hdmi extenders using 2x networke cables (not with lan)
but those can be a little spendy, but you also need a way to send controls back to host, the better ones only send rf or cec signals back to control receiver or what its connected to

an old laptop can remote play, most have an extra laying around, can keep it plugged in to its brick if it has a bad battery

Make sure you have a wifi router with enough antennae otherwise the idea of s&m is pointless.

Just use Steam Link, it's free and it will mirror your gameplay just fine, mods and all.

If you are going to use any WiFi involved, make sure it's WiFi 6 or 7; WiFi 6 set to AX I get my 500Mbps ISP speeds all day long with plenty good pings and low jitter. And copying a 4K video file (like 10+ GB per video file) or streaming such a file, from PC to PC or even PC to Phone is just as fast as if using a wired connection.
