Windows 11 Update 24H2
I was out doing some holiday shopping this morning to come back and see my Windows 11 has updated to 24h2. I remember seeing issues with it when it first dropped. Did they fix them? I heard it slowed PC's down and messed with peoples internet connection.

don't use an OS that snapshots your screen every few seconds and saves the files for people other than you.

On certain supported hardware, yes. The feature is called Windows Recall.

But it does not send the data anywhere at this time yet, but this may change whenever Microsoft wants it to.

No it doesn't, just another bad troll.
I'm still waiting for all the bugs and performance drop, I'm probably doing something wrong...

So far I'm running 24H2 on multiple systems and haven't experienced any issues so far but if you do end up on having problems then you got about 10 days after the upgrade to roll back into the previous version.

Is that with system restore or will windows let me uninstall it?

Settings -> System -> Recovery and you should have the option of "Go back"
Keep in mind that this option is only relevant for 10 days after the upgrade has been completed
Once 10 days have passed? the only way going back to 23H2 will be reinstalling Windows with the 23H2 ISO.

I think you missed out on the news because Windows Recall does exactly that. Not to mention that they had to delay it this long because they were storing the data unencrypted and people noticed.
I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with trolling. This is what happened.

Recall needs a NPU, is an opt-in, can be uninstalled in a few clicks and doesn't "saves the files for people other than you".
So making it sounds like it's mandatory, wide spread, and that it shares your snapshots with other people without your consent, all of that is trolling.

And before you try to use that argument, no I'm not defending Recall. That's a useless and invasive features and if ever it's released in a more mainstream way is there in a next Windows I'll delete it immediately.

Only on limited hardware that supports Copilot+, so if not using newest Intel Ultra CPU, or ARM based devices, then don't have to think about this really.

Windows 11 24H2 would come install with it, which you can disable, and uninstall it.

Microsoft not going to force this that why it's option to disable.

THANK YOU! Every game I owned was locked to 30fps no matter what I tried.

Restoring to the previous version fixed everything.

Yeah, mine too, both my gaming rigs (AM4 rigs, X570, Win11 Pro/HE) haven't gotten the prompt to update to 24H2 yet. My little PC (Intel N100, 12GB RAM, Win11 Pro) that I'd just gotten was prompted, and I did update it because, well, it's a dinky PC that I'm using for surfing the net and watching YT, I figured.....what harm is there? So far so good though, it runs fine with no issue at all.

Some games from Steam will may not work properly. Whatever the reason why. I'm not on Microsoft's payroll so I will not be investigating it.
