Poco X6 Pro or Samsung A55 5G, what would you recommend?
Hey there! I'm on the hunt for a new smartphone as a Christmas gift to myself since my current phone is pretty beat up.

Just to give you some context - I'm a gamer with a gaming PC and consoles, so mobile gaming isn't really my thing.

I'll probably just install one game, Balatro, and mostly use my phone for social media and watching videos online. I'm looking for expert advice on which device would be the best fit for my needs.

I'm not sure if I remember correctly but wasn't the poco using mediatek SOC? I think the mediatek SOC is faster in regards to performance than the a55 which uses an exynos chip.

But considering you are only using to watch videos and social media then both could be decent device depending on how much they cost in your region.

With that said you are like me. I use my phone only for chatting and videos.
Something like a Motorola Edge (2024) it has a Snapdragon Processor.

I think the mediatek SOC is faster than that.

Does X6 Pro die in a year like the X3 Pro(SoC/PMIC desoldering themselves)?

Isnt that (4x2.40 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x1.95 GHz Cortex-A55) weaker then A55 Exynos (4x2.75 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)?

I been out of the loop awhile. I was thinking about like Emulation, that in case OP gets curious wanted to try since Snapdragon Processor's are always the go for for them.
Samdung is evil.

NEVER accept an OEM that locks the bootloader.

Didn't know these Chinese phones had this many issues but it makes sense I guess. If you sell it for that cheap you probably are cutting corners somewhere.

They're not the only manufacturers playing lego, but that doesn't mean delivering a smartphone that comes with a SOC that uses tons much more power than what the Redmi has. Both come with the same battery it seems.

This is like a OEM selling you a PC with a high end components, but the PSU is only 500W... like wtf.
