Idk about the PSU and buying gigabyte MBs but I suggest you wait a bit longer if possible. By 2026 AMD will introduce their udna architecture and it will probably get implemented in their desktop SOCs too.

Otherwise I'd choose the 8600g, get a better MB and a better game pad.

What's wrong with the game pad and motherboard and what would you say is "better"?

I don't think posing hypothetical things that are at best 2+ years away is very relevant. I would say something potentially more reasonable to wait for is to see if there is any more details and/or an announcement from Valve regarding Fremont as that might be a more desirable option.

@OP, given your proposed build and the thread title I'd also consider looking at ChimeraOS as that is going to give you a more console-like experience vs Bazzite. Or alternatively, HoloISO. If you do care about the desktop environment and intend to use it for more than just gaming then Bazzite is also a decent choice.

Your sistem is sehr gut. But 8700g apu ram capasity and speed monger. Buy 64 gb ram. Ram speed fine thou

Forget to say map half of ram capasity for apu. Say 32 GB. 32 GB gpu and 32 GB windows and games.

Why would I go for less performance with a 8600G?

That game pad is the only native steam game pad on the market. The mobo is fine
It's not a power supply it system will be powered of a 120 watt brick

Anything other than gigabyte. I don't trust gigabyte quality on anything. Be it monitor PSU or MB.

It is relevant considering most build their machines to last. Giving them perspective of what's to come is important in order for them to make intelligent purchase decisions.

With that said back to the topic at hand Brutalness if you get the 8700g monitor the VID table in HWINFO64. AMD 8c+ SOCs tend to suck up too much voltage that can lead degradation.
