JBL LSR305 Studio Monitor Setup?
I’m going to purchase a Sound Blaster Z as a replacement to my broken Asus Xonar DX. I am currently using the Logitech Z623. I think it’s time for an upgrade! I am going to purchase two JBL LSR305 Studio Monitors for new speakers.

1. What cables would I need to connect the JBL’s to my soundcard?

2. What would be a good subwoofer to go with the JBL’s? I’m looking for something good but not too expensive (I will make this purchase later)

3. What connectors would I need for the sub?

You probably want a proper audio interface instead of connecting the monitors to your sound card. If you really want to do that, though, I assume you can get some sort of TRS or XLR to 3.5mm adapter / splitter that should let you plug them in. Sound quality probably won't be the best.
As for a subwoofer, I don't know why you'd use that with studio monitors either, but you'd need to plug the sub input in your soundcard, and then output from the sub to each of the monitors.

What would you reccomend buying? I was looking at the Audio Engine 2+, but I heard the JBL's are way better.
The JBLs probably are better, but a regular speaker setup would be more practical than studio monitors if you don't want to buy an interface. I don't know a whole lot about speakers, but If you want something bigger than the A2+ you can consider the A5+, or Kanto YU5 / Yumi. Those are usually on sale at Amazon from time to time.

Unless you're producing music with dedicated hardware avoid getting studio monitors.

Alright, thanks!
For shame!

All studio monitors are are speakers that strive for accuracy and detail. Nothing more. I'm not sure where this proclamation that they can only be used for "producing music" came from,

I own the LSR305' and use them for various purposes and they, typically, excel in all of them. You also don't need an "interface" to connect them. A simple $6-8 TRS to 3.5mm is all that's needed to connect them to your SC.
