Nervous
Im nervous for when i move out of the house and get my own place.

Will they still sell windows 7 home premium computers?

I can download google chrome from Internet Explorer, correct?
Azza ☠ 30 DIC 2014 a las 10:34 a. m.
By the time you move out, Win 7 main support will be discontinued...

Win 8.1 would be also buried, and Win 10 would of replaced it.

Obamastan would of released 30,000 spy drones into it's airspace to monitor it's citizens and become a police state.

However, yes you can still download Google Chrome and use that spyware, rather than the other.

WHY THOUGH! I dont want to leave windows 7! You are making me feel like total Sh!t with what you have said there....
And as far as Mainstream support? So what! Windows XP lost mainstream support but theres lots of people who still use it. I

I am very scared right now. I dont like change. I dont want to move on from windows 7... I dont want to learn a new operating system! Why the heck cant they just make one and then stop making them? Seriously? Imageine in 10 years... "Introducing the NEW iphone 16!"

Its too dang hard to keep up with learning all of this New crap.

I love windows 7 and i never want to leave it...

But i guess im going to have to

Win 7 main stream support ends 17th Jan 2015, however extended support lasts till 2020.

However, Win 10 is actually just a merge of Win 8.2 (which was discontinued) + Win 7 (which everyone loves more). Bring back the start button and various other functions Win 8 missed.

All of the Microsoft Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 run off the same core (Version 6). Just open up a command prompt and type 'ver' in each.

You will get something like this:
version 6.0.6000 (Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008)
version 6.0.6002 (Windows Vista / SP2)
version 6.1.7600 (Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2)
version 6.1.7601 (Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1)
version 6.2.9200 (Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012)
version 6.3.9600 (Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2)
version 6.4.9841 (Windows 10 Technical Preview)

As you can clearly see, they are merely minor upgrades on the same core. This means you can even set Classic Shell mode on them to get back the previous version.

Classic Shell mode on Vista actually gives you the same core as Win XP.

Classic Shell mode on Win 8, 8.1, and 10 will give you the core of Win 7.

With some minor tweaking and adjustments, you can recreate Win 7 and no one would never tell the difference, interface stays and works the same... with the exception of better security and continued updates.

They haven't been making anything actually 'new' for years...

I suck at coding and programming so most of that was Jibberish to me.
Not even sure what a shell is.
Azza ☠ 30 DIC 2014 a las 11:19 a. m.
Simply said, they are all coded from the same core components.

It's not as major of a leap, it's nothing new created from scratch.

It would be best to wait for the release of Win 10. Then use that, right-click your desktop > personalization > use classic shell (it's a theme which looks and acts just like the previous Operating System). You will get the same look and feel back as if using Win 7. It's still there, buried below. Even the coding is almost the same.

I belive it is that the Windows 7 home premium and ultimate will end support in january but windows 7 professional will end support in 2020. Idk but i think it is so. I may have wrong.

Sigh...

Windows 7 mainstream support ends 15th Jan 2015.

This means no new services packs (apart from Service Pack 1, they didn't create anymore).
No new features - well as above, they haven't been doing that either anyways.

Ideally you want to ensure you have the latest service pack and updates installed before this date.

Extended support doesn't end till 2020. This means you will still get Security updates. Basic non-security update support. You can also get paid Microsoft tech support and find free technical / help online Microsoft Knowledge Base.

... pretty much what they are already doing now. Just made offical.

Extended support discontinued, means it will turn into what Win XP is like... people can still use it, but no security updates or support for it.

Win 7 - Ultimate 64 bit of course is my main Gaming PC.

Have also used Kali Linux Penetration Testing OS, Parrot-Sec Forensic OS, RedHat Linux, Win XP SP3, DOS, Win 10 Tech Release, etc. To name just a few (I'm a security expert and use some in my job as well).

The worst are Vista and Win 8, I dare not touch again - rather just consider them as stepping stone in a tick/tock development cycle. Even the very alpha version of Win 10 was a lot nicer, getting to the point of I might consider it as a proper Win 7 replacement with DirectX 12 for gaming, it has some of the features of Win 7 mixed with what Win 8 should of been in the first place. :)
