Help! Like quick! Crossfire V Formula Z AMD Motherboard!

I just got my Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard for AMD. But at the top there is an 8 pin atx and and 4 pin atx plug in. I only have the 24 pin motherboard and 8 pin plugs! Do I still need the extra 4 pin? My power supply is an Corsair RM 750 80% Gold. Would it still boot? Yes or no. Or maybe. Need advice!!!

The ASUS manual will answer that; been a while since I used that board; but I know that info is there; just read the manual.

The extra 4pin shouldnt be mandatory should just give you more/extra juice for overclocking. I could be wrong so hopfully some AMD guys will chime in and confirm this or not.

The 4-pin (EZ Plug) is for extra PCI-E slot power if you're running three video cards.

I had the same board for a while.I thought the xtra 4 pin was for xtra juice for overclocking the cpu? As Southern said earlier thats what I can recall. What Cpu are you using with this Motherboard btw? I was able to squeeze out close to 5ghz on my Fx 9370 best Amd motherboard your hard earned money can buy lol.

To be honest I didnt notice a diffrence with the overclock either way 4 pin or not lol.

You dont need the 4.

It should say in the manual.. looking at my formula vii now and it says "or" next to the pictures. Some people claim it will provide increased stability in extreme overclocks, ie cold/dice runs, but I've never found any actual proof.

I use both but only because my psu has both and oc my processor to the max under water.

When the system is running with three VGA cards, ensure to connect the EZ PLUG for extra PCIe power supply.
