You are using a Microsoft account, so it will be password from your hotmail/outlook email.
If you have no password set it shouldn't be an issue. Worst case you get a password screen and can't login to safe mode to use DDU. Just restart computer from the password screen to return to windows normally.
This isnt accurate anymore for semi up to date Win10
The last big update (Not the H2 blah blah or whatever) one made it so you can use your Pin OR Password for Safemode, before it was Password only.

OP
Before Entering Safemode make sure any Pin/Password is correct for the logged in account.
Then enter safemode manually first, after which you can then use DDU to do so as needed.
I've never in my whole life heard anything like that, and they say themselves "if you've forgotten..." So how about saying what it is? This pretentious casual non-explaining online is so annoying.
Edit: Okay, so according to an article on guidingtech.com, the PIN is basically fancy pretentious new nonsense that's 10 times more complicated but one is supposed to think is so much simpler (although of course they do pretend it's actually good).
It needs a warning because being able to use a Pin in safe mode instead of the password was introduced a few major updates ago, it wasnt always an option. So either a PIN or a PASSWORD is used to enter, unless you dont have such a thing on the PC account.
