Dell Latitude D610-Cannot connect to internet using Wireless.

Hello guys I got this Laptop Free so iam trying to use it for watching movies and alike so I stationed it in the Living room for its portabilty however iam not able to connect to the net using the Intel wireless feature. All it says for my Network is aquiring network address and thats it! If i plug it in directly into the Comcast Modem it works just fine but takes away all my portibilty options that way! Any help is appricated.

Specs- Intel Centrino, Windows Xp I think it is?

A small update- When I type my Network key in which is correct Btw all it does is trying to connect to network then quits after a few minutes of trying-What the hell/! .....Is it beacuse windows Xp isnt being supported any longer or whats the deal? We still have this Desktop and a few smart phones we run perfectly fine on our network yet I cannot connect this POS regardless what i try doing lol.

What wireless protocols does your wireless router support and what does the laptop use?

I have no clue Dude! But for some reason it decided to finally connect lol.Its working now.I guess i was just being a little to ruff on it? .......Thanks guys. Time to run the Crysis benchmark on that puppy huh?

Compare the Router WiFi Settings + what the WiFi adapter supports or is setup to do.

I set my Router for example to Wireless G/N so that would mean use of any Wireless B would be blocked.

Its working now, it just took 4-ever what it seems to aquire the net-address.Maybe since it such an old Laptop? Its pretty slow compared to my Desktop!

I had my hands on an old D510 and it didn't work if wireless wasn't enabled at boot time. (it was running win7 though) maybe its the same problem?

Its a pretty old Laptop if its running Windows Xp, Also......I think official support ended through Microsoft iam not sure when. But hey I got it free so I cant complain. Its working fine now not sure what happend/.
