Glitches (Artifacts) on GTX 970 Driver or Hardware issue? Help!
Hey, I have EVGA GTX 970 SC (Superclocked) since early November and since then, I get some graphic glitch. It firstly happen when I get black screens and freezes but re-installing the graphics driver fixed it. After that, things go smoothly until I discovered some glitches, otherwise artifacts. These things are not consistant but they pop-up from time to time and they're hard to reproduced. I tried underclocking my GPU by -105 on both core and memory but these glitches are still there. I made the topic over at EVGA forums and they told me it was game glitches. One member said that if I didnt' see any artifacts in heaven nor valley, your card is fine. I was like, huh, and begin trouble shooting by using Unigine's Heaven and Valley Benchmark. Both of those didn't have artifacts. Then I stress it on OC Scanner by selecting gpu core and memory burner with artifact scanner selected for like an hour each and there are no artifacts. Then I used OCCT (both 4.4.1 and 3.0.1 for some reason, dx11 doesn't work since the file, Crysis2.exe doesn't exist and I checked its directory and nothing there), Video Memory Stress Tester and MemtestG80 and no errors nor artifacts. My GPU temps are in the high 30s - high 40s using a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner.

Games that are affected:
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Not Affected:

World of Warcraft
Dota 2

Here are my questions, are those really glitches or artifacts? Since I already testing everything for artifacts and it came out none. Are they're really hardware, software or driver issue? I'll be appreciated for answers. My GTX 560 didn't have those things, at least in drivers 344.16 (or 344.12). Can anyone tell me?

specs?
what cpu, mobo, power supply (brand/model)

temps?

did you use an amd/ati card before?
be sure to uninstall all amd/ati gpu drivers before installing nvidia drivers
GPU temps are in the high 30s - high 40s
i think temperatures are within normal limits so the artifacting may be due to other factors.

what is your current monitor, gaming resolution, refresh rate?
have you tried any other monitor?

are you using what type of video card cable (d-sub, hdmi, dvi)?
have you tried replacing your current video card cable with other spare cable?
monitor will not cause artifacting

it could be a bad gpu, or unstable power supply

if its the driver crashing, most likely its the power supply

Shoot, here's my specs:

Cpu: i7 960 @ 3.20ghz
Gpu:evga gtx 970 ACX 2.0 sc
Ram: Corsair Dominator 12GB
MB: Gigabyte g1. Guerilla x58
Harddrive: Seagate 1TB 7200rpm Hard Drive
Optical Drive: LG Blu-Ray / DVD Burner Combo
Monitor: Sceptre 27inch 60mhz (1920 x 1080)
Mouse: Logitech g700s
Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance k70 Black (Red LED) Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches)
PSU: Corsair TX750

My previous card was GTX 560. After I got a black screen when I first installed my gtx 970, I uninstalled using control panel followed by driver sweeper in safemode and then installed the drivers. The black screen was fixed.

How could it be a bad gpu when I used OC Scanner for like an hour on both gpu core and memory burner with artifact scanner selected and it shows 0 artifacts? My 12v was at 12.28 and while underload it would go to 12.1 or something.

My current monitor was Sceptre 27 inch and resolution was 1980x1080 at 60ghz
I think my cable was dvi. I don't have a spare video card cable to be honest.

Sorry for the triple reply.
tx750 should be more than enough for the gtx970 in that system

cpu is good to 100c before it will throttle
gpu will throttle at around 90c

if they stay below that it should be fine

My cpu was in the mid 40s while gaming and so is my gpu so I don't think it was the overheating problem.

I dunno why OC Scanner, OCCT, Video Memory Stress Tester, and MemtestG80 didn't find any artifacts while I get these glitches. Although I don't see artifacting in Heaven and Valley so I dunno why I get these in my games. These glitches aren't constant like those artifacts are. They just appear randomly. ><

Are you using the latest driver version?

Anyway, here's the video:

I accidently delete L4D2 videos which shows these glitches, so I apologized.
