Which power supply?
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($60)

Or

Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($40)

PCPartPicker says my build needs an estimated 177W, so will the 430W be okay? Will I need more?

It is wise to invest in the future. Bigger better video card or cpu or other things. I would definately not buy anything smaller than a 600-650 watt in this day and age

Neither, there are so many power supplies better than the Corsair CX series.
If you want a good quality power supply get this

Corsair doesn't makes power supplies, they just stick stickers onto it.
The cheaper line - CS,CX is made by CWT. The expensive line - AX,TX is made by Seasonic.
While generally better as the most generic power supplies (80+ certified, silent, working protections) if you can afford is still wiser to go for the better ones. Anything made by CWT is average at best, due second-tier capacitors.

Try get something what from inside is made by Seasonic, Superflower or FSP or directly them. EVGA is made by Superflower and XFX is made by Seasonic. They are a cheap but good bet.

Forget Azza. Their cheaper line is literally blowing up and the pricey line (like that one) is average at best. 1000W is also useless, unless you don't have some 8 core AMD with two Radeons in crossfire.

For that price how about this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr

750W is enough, 80+ Gold to save your electricity bills and is modular. Just unhook the unneeded cables for better airflow.

Don't forget me, da real Azza (that PSU is an imposter to my good name) :(

Best brand to get is Seasonic - most of the other high-end PSUs are actually still using their own components, such as Corsair, Antec, Silverstone, XFX, etc.

I would personally recommend:

- 80PLUS Gold Certified (the easiest way to tell it has higher quality components)
- Full Modular cabling design (tidy, less cable clutter, and more airflow)
- High +12V amps output (stable for high-end graphic cards / sli)
- Separate lower voltage output (high juice devices won't drain or fry the smaller ones)
- Active Power Factor Correction
- At least two or four PCI-E 6 pins / 8 pins 12V (for high-end graphics card)
- Quiet fan control

Seasonic X series - around the 650-760W mark would be ideal for most high quality custom gaming builds.

If you are not running Multiple GPU's and over clocked CPU and/or Water cooling, I would stay away from the 1000 plus Power supplies. They are expensive and a waist if you are not building a high end system.

80Plus Gold and between 600 and 800 is going to be your best price to performance range with the most reliable power supplies. I would recommend that you read reviews on any power supply that you are looking at to see if there are recent manufacturing issues with the product, atleast the last 6 months of reviews. Seasonic is the most common manufacturer and makes most of the parts for many other brands. XFX has some in the range you are looking at. I have had good luck with Antec, Corsair, Coolermaster, and a few other name brands in the range you are looking at. Just make sure to pick one that is not in the middle of a bad batch.

It'd be easier to recommend if I could see your build & you could explain the intended use.

For myself I'd have to say the 750W 80 Plus Bronze so I'd have room for better graphics card(s), overclocking and other upgrades. I'd rather never have to worry about the power.

Um did you forget the graphics card?

Cause on Intel HD 4600 it's only really gonna be a office PC. I mean sure some games can be played and you can upgrade to a real GPU but it's not a gaming rig till you do that.

Oops sorry, I forgot to say that I have a Radeon HD 7870 IceQ.

Corsair, Cooler Master, and EVGA are all good PSU's and a 750-900 watt is what you want if you plan on upgrading to a bigger and better CPU or GPU in the future.
Mozendo 2014년 11월 29일 오전 5시 26분
That's too much, graphics card power consumption will only get smaller getting anything beyond 550w for a single card setup is a waste of money.
