Monitor has horizontal lines moving vertically??
I have horizontal lines moving vertically on my monitor (ASUS VS278Q-P), it's very faint but noticeable, especially if I'm playing something with a dark background and it's driving me nuts.It only happens during games though. Anyone know specifically what the problem would be?

EFI. reconfigure your computer wires and locations of monitor/computer. Maybe a UPS filter would help.

Thats some confusing stuff there. I really dont think there are any magnetic fields near my monitor.

how is it connected to your pc?

dvi, vga, hdmi, dp?

vga with a cheap/thin cable will have wavy lines no matter what you do
if its a quality cable, itll look good enough

dvi, hdmi, dp are digital, and will not pick up interference

if your using dvi, hdmi, dp and getting wavy lines, rma the monitor

if there were any field wouldnt i have the lines at all times? It only happens during gaming.

hahahha. Everything with wires in it and electricity running through it has emf and/or is susceptible to it.

I once saw a computer NOT start from having a large chunk of iron near the monitor. You could literally pull the iron a few inches away and the computer would fire right up.

Im using vga plugged into dvi. Im using the cable that came with the monitor. Im pretty sure ASUS wouldnt sell me a monitor with crappy cabling.

Wooow, I actually have my monitor sitting ontop of 2 steel dumbell plates so i can tilt the screen forward a little. Could steel cause a problem.

This is getting a little silly. lol

Ill try the hdmi cable, but honestly I think it just started a couple days ago. Im really just loosing it right now. First my set up is causing blackouts in home and now problems with the monitor. Ahhhhh its frustrating.

I did not see that you were the same person. You need an electrician to sort your stuff out...

So only in games? Not if on Windows Desktop w/ black wallpaper?

Do you have the PC too close to the monitor?
Do you run the system with the side panel removed?
As the PC Power Supply can do such things. Also check the screws on your motherboard and power supply, ensure they not loose. As that could give poor ground and cause such distortions. Corse if that is the case for you then your computer case must be very thin I would say.

But it could also just be a faulty monitor; as I've seen that, where the power unit inside the screen was just failing and causing similar issues.
